You guys have helped me a lot in the past so here is where I am at. Been looking at this or one off of GB. Everything I have seen seems good; lefty friendly, made by kebab removers and not kebab, very well liked by everyone who has used them. Only thing I am worried about is finding spare parts down the road and more mags.

If I didn't get this it was going to be either a Jericho or a Sig P320/250.

Also pistol bread.

How is $400 considered cheap?
>>

Given that its meant to be a "clone" of a Sig P226, I'd say its pretty cheap.

CZ 99/EZ 40s are pretty good guns. they dont have a decocker however, but they do have a better slide stop than the Sig series.

Literally save $80 more and wait for topgunsupply to bring in more 9mm p226 trade ins

I love my cz999 but it was only about $280 a year ago when I purchased it which is a much better deal. Those wood grips are hot seks though
>>
>>29697620
By the way OP, the gun shoots better than most $400 handguns for sure, the 999 at least. Just saying I'd call SOG and see if they'll be getting new shipments in anytime soon. I believe the 40 version of the 999 is still available for cheap from them

Ok, I was $9 off but here you go
http://www.southernohiogun.com/zastava-cz999-police-pistol-9mm-compact.html

I got myself mixed up too, it is still in stock as you'll see but they only have the compact (which is the version I own and I don't believe anyone has the full size in stock nor has for a while. It is a half inch difference in barrel length). I was over on a Zastava fan club and I believe these are the CZ999 Scorpion model rather than the standard CZ999 (not a bad thing but a couple slight differences that escape me) and you can read more on all of that and anything else about the gun here:
http://www.cz99.org/index.php?page=cz999

Now, there are a couple things to be aware of. The slide pull is stiffer than shit to the point that I have to cock the hammer before pulling back and even then it isn't that easy. The mags are stiff as shit too. This is stuff that should obviously get better with use but I'm about 500 rounds in and still find it to be a bit much. Mine also has an issue with the takedown lever not being useable when the firearm is slide-caught so I have to pull the slide back a bit further in order to engage it which is no easy feat; I managed to tear my leg up pretty bad getting it caught in the slide my first time figuring it all out (and this is not my first handgun). Hopefully yours won't have that issue, I don't believe it to be a common one. Lower grain ammo (115 to be exact) also has trouble activating the slide catch to hold it back after a dump, I also don't believe this is a common problem but more likely a defect in mine and is about 50/50. Other than the bit of bad though I love the thing. I haven't had a single issue with it as far as going bang after 500 rounds, the thing feels great in my hands and looks goddamn beautiful. I'd highly recommend it brother, good luck on making your decision
>>
>>29700568
Oh, also wanted to add that on the CZ999 (possibly scorpion) does use the slide-release/de-cocker setup and it works great
>>
>>29700568
And one last time bugging you, I took a look at the differences between cz999 and cz999 scorpion, the guns are the same but we lose the neat action mode selector the CZ999 had which allowed the gun to stay in double action. Mine was purchased from SOG and is clearly listed as a CZ999 on the site as well as on the gun itself but it is in fact a scorpion model

They pop up on gunbroker and elsewhere sometimes but the youtube link will show you how to convert other popular mags, I don't believe any mainstream store sells them outright though and getting any replacement parts might be difficult as well but I haven't had to look yet

I don't know enough about European pistols to help with the rest, but for God's sake, if you end up buying a Sig, get the P320 and not the P250. The P250 was an experiment and they fucked it up, and I say that as an ardent 24/7 Sigfag. The P320 is a great weapon, though.

What about this. Looks good but is missing screws on the grips. Was just curious about just usual wear and tear items though like springs, barrel, and stuff like that. Still its good to know that yours are all working fine.

Also thanks on the mag into...I just dont wanna take a dremel to a Beretta mag lol
>>
>>29704786
>What about this. Looks good but is missing screws on the grips.
That is a 99 not a 999, I have no idea but with that level of rust you are going to see issues inside the slide like a rusty 226 with rollpin issues.
>Was just curious about just usual wear and tear items though like springs, barrel, and stuff like that.
Recoil springs can be substituted for a 226 recoil spring with a coil or two cut down. Barrel is pretty hard wont be going anywhere. Most of the other springs are really beefy.
>.I just dont wanna take a dremel to a Beretta mag lol
Most of the time CZ99/999 mags are around $20 a pop, the dremel job is really retard proof and will let you build out extended mags

The 999 finish from the most recent batches are really kind of shitty. Its almost a paint on setup and you can easily wear it off/strip it with cleaners

More advise.

You can take the grips off and the slide off (barrel and recoil spring as well) but donot try to detail strip it or try to remove the takedown lever. You will have a bad time, there are a lot of springs that lock into eachother and result in a complex system. Donot dry fire it with the grips off, a spring will come loose and stab you in your hand.

Left to right:
>CZ999

>G17
As you can see the cz999 is sort of fat and lacks thumb swells for manlet hands. It is also nearly the same height as a glock17 with a magpul g17 mag in it. It is not a carry gun.

This concludes the CZ999 photo dump

a 1911 style is just too damn pretty to not consider. The extra money is totally worth it.

All I have are these hand me downs that are 65 years old now (no idea about the ruger 22 though) at this point and it still has never failed a single shot save for some old ass ammo that got mixed on accident.

Sure it's chanbered in 38 super which isn't all that popular and it has very low profile shots but it's the easiest, best grouping handgun I have ever fired. I don't know most people's experience in 38 super but I find it considerably better than .40SW or 9mm.

I think they are new $800-$1000.

OP, as someone from Serbia who's knows a thing or two about these pistols, the one from the ad is probably going to be the best version of these pistols you can find.

The QC and quality of materials used on those 1990-1995 export models of CZ99 was the absolute best.

Hey Serbro, do you know what's going on with their new handgun? Saw a concept and it looked like a USP knockoff but it was a pretty old picture and I haven't heard any new news
>>
>>29709642
Eh, something is in the works but knowing how the management of Zastava Arms operates, it's either going to completely abandoned because "why would we build something new when the old shit is still selling", or it may come to market very late in the game. I've heard only good things about the PPZ prototype although they got some issues to iron out (trigger group needs tweaking since it has too much slack the way it was in 2013, etc)

Truth be told, I wouldn't hold my breath too much although you never know what they're going to do.

The previous prototype, the Top XX was also considered to be first class pistol since it was developed by a bunch of dudes who were deeply involved with competition shooting, along with some spec ops guys etc. Yet Zastava dropped the ball on that one as well.

Ok here is a scenario for you...Well two actually:

1.) What if something happens to your right hand and you are never able to use it properly again? Such as an accident or it needs to be amputated. Now what? You have an entire collection of guns only suitable for a right handed person to use and you are now forced to use your left hand.

2.)What if while in a defensive situation your right hand/arm becomes injured? Stabbing, gun shot, etc. Again. Now what? You throw your empty gun at your remaining assailants or assailant?

You know this is probably why there have been so many left handed leaders, were capable of thinking further ahead than you common rabble.
