The BFG vickers can't do single-point unless you spend $20 on an Impact Weapons Components adapter that is fixed at 90 degrees. The MS4 doesn't have a fixed degree.

Can't wait for my BCM upper to come in.

In the process of building two ARs, one for the wife and one for me.

Anyone suggest a good upper for hers? She wants a short (9-10 inch) rail that is slim and no front site post. I was wanting a mid length system, but I think her only option would be a carbine length.

I don't know what I'm doing anymore. But my rifle needs to change
1. Taking the light mount off. Besides like 5 dusk shoots, I haven't used it, and with that fucking lantac on there, so sense using it as my HD weapon.
2. Remounting my scope. While unilluminated and having a simple duplex, I have a $300 variable rifle scope, and I'm going to use it damnit. I just need a new 1 inch scope mount or scope rings.

So, qd or no qd, mount or rings? Qd's nice, but why spend 60% of the scopes value on the mount that will be 1 inch and won't be compatible with the actually good scope I'll buy later
>>
>>29644538
whats a good holster for glock brand glock 19?
>>
>>29644388
All else being equal, more expensive.
>needs an extra part
Mag blocks are expensive
>mags are somewhat more expensive
Depending on pattern, they can be between $5 and $30 more than a gen3 Pmag. Converted Uzi mags are the cheapest at around $15 each
>.38 caliber MD's are rare and more expensive for the same pattern (IE, a 9mm A2 FH will be like $50, vs. $20 for a .22cal A2 FH)

All the other parts (should) cost the same, give or take for playing the "find the correct-for-me part" game.

Guys I have the Larue cowitness mount on my aimpoint H1 and I don't think I like it, it's too low, I have to tilt my forehead forward and my chin back to see the dot. I think I need the high mount. Opinions? Thoughts?

Drill is just what people call it. It's formal name is "weekend battle assembly".

So you basically PMCS vehicles, and avoid the 1SG or most beneficent fuck fuck games are in your future.
>>
>>29645391
A normal drill weekend is 0600 Saturday morning to ~1730 Sunday evening. Some people are lucky enough to live close enough (within 50 miles) of their drill station to get to go home every night, but most of them have to stay the night in either a shitty hotel or even shittier on-base transient lodging, both with a roommate.

Drills involving going to the range are usually Friday, Saturday, Sunday and rarely do you get out of Sunday before 2100 (9pm).

Get a good contract, and an MOS with a security clearance if you can swing it, and you'll be fine.

If you're in a good active duty infantry unit, you'll probably make it out to the range more often because they will take you out there for more than just quals. Reflexive fire, barrier shoots, night fire, all the cool shit.

My unit doesn't want to do that shit, so they don't even keep track of which rifles people sign out at the armory, so they can spend more time on group and zero to get more familiarity with the weapon, rather than doing a reflexive fire range.

I absolutely loved being AD (well, up until I got blown the fuck up). Junior enlisted and all NCO's were competent, officers weren't too terrible or overly political, bullshit was kept to a minimum.

The Reserves on the other hand were like a significantly more retarded Peewee Herman trying to conduct a 3-ring circus. JNCO's were jaded, SNCO's were corrupt and highly politicized, junior officers were no-shows, and senior officers were even more corrupt and politicized than the SNCO's.

Also I was the *only* white person in the entire fucking unit, which was ~company sized, and one of only 7 males.

My direct supervisor, who was a Major with over 20 years in including active duty time, claimed she had not once in her entire career fired a rifle. She'd only ever qualled with pistols.

I just free floated the rail a month or so ago and realized I didn't have a front sight, so I picked up something quick at my LGS. I'll probably pick up something better some point down the road. I'm not too concerned about it at the moment since I finally got my strike eagle.

I'm already done with with my BS, have zero debt at the moment, and have already been accepted to the accelerated nursing program. My GPA is pretty solid but I would have liked it to be a bit higher if I was going to try for med school. I could definitely be a solid candidate but it would be more of a struggle. It really stems from I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted to do during undergrad so I didn't really take the most optimal path to begin with. Sure there are better options but I'm satisfied with what I'd be doing as an ARPN.

How to build babby's first A1 clone? I was thinking Colt 603, since it's the M16A1 but I have no clue where to start. What do I buy? And is 1:7 an option for the barrel with these?
>>
>>29646419
pls it has to happen. i have no ammo
>>
>>29646424
green mountain makes 1:7 twist a1 barrels. You should probably buy an A1 parts kit and then a lower from nodak spud.

You're in for a rough ride since the parts kits dried up.

If you are a very, very patient person, order an A1 lower and upper receiver set. Then get a 20" pencil barrel from Green Mountain or AR15sport. The furniture can be easily had on Gunbroker and ebay, as well as AR15sport. A basic milspec LPK and BCG from PSA will do fine. The flat slip ring for the handguards can also be from AR15sport.

Let's say you aren't wanting to wait the literal 8 months for Nodak to get you your receivers, however. For the lower, you can get one relatively soon from McKay Enterprises. The upper may have to come from lurking Gunbroker. Or, if you're a pleb, you can get the A1 upper and lower on Brownell's that are from NDS, but for some fucktarded reason are finished A2 black.

Little things like the A1 selector switch, dust cover, and rearsight assembly are becoming hard to find, so get ready to do a bit of hunting for those.

Help me, /arg/. I built a build with a barreled upper receiver and now I've caught the urge to build my own upper receiver.
I really enjoy the look of the Mk 12 SPR and want to do a MK 12 SPR build. I have a line on a heavily discounted BWS SPR-profile barrel, and I can get discounts from virtually every company.
Couple questions though:
>Will I regret this build?
>How important is the Badger Ordinance gas block?
>Good gas tube / buffer?
>I don't really like the look of the KAC handguards. Anything similar that looks better?
>Buddy is selling a Leuopold VX-R 3-9 for cheap, is that a good option?

You gain literally nothing with a polymer lower and lose strength.
