Hoppe's 9 and CLP. It's worked out ok so far, but aside from my carry guns I don't get to shoot the others as much as I'd like to. I might change it up if I was going throigh thousands of rounds each month.
Yes, I wear gloves when handling the Hoppe's.
I use a long wooden pole to clean my artillery pieces, too. I'm lazy and they get so dirty I can hardly fit it in the bore.

Hoppe's 9 usually, Hoppe's Benchrest if I notice copper fouling. Hoppe's Gun Oil for lube. Basically all Hoppe's errythang. Yes, I always wear gloves. I'm an EMT so I just take a few extra pairs home when I want to clean my guns.
is there a decent cleaner which is non toxic? I really hate wearing gloves, but I don't want to get gun cancer or whatever longterm exposure to CLP does.

Frog Lube. Some people love it, some hate it. I personally have never used it, but it is non-toxic. Or just buy a box of vinyl gloves.

1: 90-99% iso alcohol to strip grease/oil
2: wipe with cloth
3: G96 on all parts
4: grease on rails
5: exterior G96 coating

ah, well I've been using it on my funs for years and it is cheap like >>29596280 said.
It takes grease off, just get 90-99% for quick evaporation.

Try it if you have some at home. Pour some on a patch and it will remove old lube, dirt and grime, at .80c a bottle it's hard to beat.

I've never had it fuck any of my finishes up, alcohols is less harsh than solvents. I use alcohol on my RIA, Sig, Glock, LMT and others with no problems. Remember to lube or grease any place the alcohol touched because it strips all oils/grease.
