The 'best' rifle of WW2 is the one you can produce a lot of, and subsequently equip your soldiers with very quickly. Mausers were not cost effective, and they were way to 'finely' made IMO. Still a great rifle, but the Lee Enfield and Mosin are better suited to industrialized warfare
