Prepare for pain until they break in. Once broken in you wont want to take them in.

I like the classic brown better, but yeah they're great boots. What >>29593945 said is accurate. They will destroy your feet for about a week.

>Are you assigned to an Airborne Unit and required to wear them with your dress uniform?
If yes then you did good.

If no then you dun fucked up.
Any modern hiking boot will be far better. Jump boots are damn near slick soled with almost no tread.

Try and wear them with anything that normal people wear and you will look like you have downs.

I Love mine because of the lineage they hold, but would never wear them outside of military dress

They'll look like a pair of Doc Martens. No one will care.
>>
>>29594006
Fair enough I will concede that they will look somewhat like steel toe Docs. But again they have no tred, if you wear them for work spend money on a nice set of inserts and go with God, because they are made for dress wear not hard use.

I might get roped into a cross country tour with a friend over the summer onvolving camping out at most the national parks. What would you reccomend for that? Longest I've hiked was a 37 mile trail over 5 days and usually replace my boots every half year.

I would say a pair of Merrell Moab Mids.

If you want a military style boot look into old jungle boots. Once you wear them in they are good boots.

If you try and take a pair of jump boots on a hike you are going to be fucked.

The pic is how much tread they have.

>tfw once hiked 15 miles after a storm in loafers to prove a point
Even if I change my profession to scat porn star will I never eat as much shit as I did then.

They are leather, right? Should I get some leather grease like Hubberds? How often should I reapply?

Yeah I hear ya, I had a pair of Belleville 390's that I used so much that they were damn near slick. What started as a road match turned into an inna woods fuck fest. Same story as you.

With the jump boots we just apply a metric fuck ton of Kiwi to them to make them shine. I don't put any thing else on them. But again in not wearing them for anything other than an event where I'm in dress uniform.

I wanted combat boots but i wanted them to be real and not shit (or docs) like every other girl wears
>>
>>29594472
Honeslty get yourself a pair of normal jungles or the newer suede ones. They look more like normal boots and will do better in every regard than dress jump boots.

If you want to look like a european hipster then by all means get jump boots.

If you want boots that you can do man shit with then don't get jump boots.
>>
I got a pair of browns for reenacting
they're great, wear em everyday
>>
>>29593881

been wearing a set every day for about 3 years, great boots, not water proof though, they wear out pretty fast too with every day use, then again i'm pretty hard on them.

i recommend changing out the laces for thinner, tougher ones, and it'll wear through laces like crazy if you don't untie them before taking them off.

Bought a pair of Marauders when I was in tech training because that's what everybody else was doing. I found them to be extremely uncomfortable but they looked good so I only wore them on special occasions. When the uniform changed there wasn't much use to for them so the boots found new use as motorcycle footwear. I had a couple of spills and the boots have gotten plenty scuffed up, but I still use them.

>look like you have downs
what are you on about?
they just look like brown shoes
>>
They're sexy as fuck, but I recommend some Dr. Scholls, those make most any boot comfy. I wouldn't want to ruck in them though, but for street wear they're slammin.
>>
>>29593881
Yes and no
They're great-looking boots no doubt, and as others have said are comfy af after you break them in. So for walking around/work boots they'll be good.
But for hiking they okay at best, if you like the look but want better for hiking, Corcoran Field boots are extremely similar but more focused toward the field. I've had a pair for 4 years and I still love them, even if they're roughed up a bit now.

owner here
this guy gets it
I like mine for wearing into brushy areas, but I'd always pick civilian hiking boots for trail hiking

I wear mine daily, but I'm probably going to switch to something else soon now that the weather is getting warmer
>>
>>29593881
I have a pair, I love them

>>29594472
Some of us already have those lol, but i approve

>>29596184
Marauders aren't as good because the cordura fabric it is made of doesn't mold to your feet and stretch over time the way leather does. Not only that, you can't shine the fabric and your feet get wet much easier
