Irl, on an M4/AR, using that *Biden aiming, is like having an Eotech of close engaments and a 3-3.5x mid range optic.
Two in one, can an Eotech do as much? Scopes Can but at some point the mag difference will confuse you're eyes more than help. Repetition, naturally.

Functionally, the ACOG is identical to a red dot at close distances. Your brain only switches to the magnified image when it's needed. You can literally muzzle the wall and see a nonmagnified illuminated crosshair appear. People who bitch about target acquisition don't have ACOGs or don't know how to keep both eyes open.

Not him but I have a ta31 on a a1 fixed carry handle. It probably isn't optimal for 3-gun and if you are the type to have a perfected cheekwield within 1 nanometer every time you won't like it. It's chinwield at best, nothingwield if you aren't a big guy or don't buy a riser.
I like it because I have an irrational favor for high mounted optics. Having robust, well practiced with, and easily accessible irons in addition to the optic is nice too. Its not the best place to mount it, but if someone couldn't make it work to some degree they should consider getting good.

I have a 20" gun with an A1 upper coming, and I was considering putting a TA33 (3x model) on it, or using my Vortex 1-4; either-or.
I've peered through a 2 power ACOG mounted to a removable carry handle at a funstore and it seemed perfect for me.

The TA33 sounds like a good choice. Never looked through one but the eye relief sounds nice. Like the best of a red dot with a bit of magnification when you need it.
