Anyone else stocking up on ammo,mags and that one gun youve been eyeing for months.
If you have the funds why arent you doing it now before the fudds are waiting at the asscrack of dawn to buy up ammo.
Ive been making it a habit every paycheck to stock up on shit so I dont have to panic buy like in 2008. What do you k/omrades do?
Im all set on mags for both my AR and AK, I try and get 1000 round cases every 2 months or so.

For me to be comortable is 15+ for my rifles and 5 for my pistol.
At the moment I have 30 AR mags (most of them were on sale) and 18 steel combloc AK mags and 1 75rd drum... Enough for now.
For my ammo situation I want 25 full mag reloads stored at all times, so 750rds for my rifles no matter what.

I don't mind having to clean out the barrel after shooting. I autistically strip it down for cleaning and oil each time it is fired anyway.

The reason you keep a large stockpile is specifically because you go to the range a lot every month.
This is so that you can weather price shocks and still be able to regularly train every month for a year or two even if the entire supply line dries up (like what happened to 5.56, 9mm, and .22lr)
The basic rule generally follows how much you use. For example, if you use 150 rounds for a weapon a month, you should have at least 1500 rounds for that weapon. And that you buy at least 150 rounds for that month to keep your stock all the way up to 10 months to a year. Obviously, if you use more, then you keep more.

Makarov poster from above. Got 150 rounds at the lgs they shipped it to. Went through all 3 boxes in just over an hour and I didn't even feel like I was firing overly fast. In fact I was taking 2 minute breaks between mags because loading those fucking things is like trying to fix the exposed wiring in a blender. The spring has this small sharp as fuck metal bit sticking out of the side of the mag. The only way to get all 8 rounds in without orangutan strength is to ply it down with a bottle cap. Every other reload though the cap would slip and fucking eviscerate my thumb. Got a tool now that does it quickly and easily but I feel like I could go through 150 in 30 minutes now.

No one is saying you should buy all that ammo stockpile in one sitting.
You buy what you shoot, but save half of it for the stockpile. Naturally, as you go through this process, you'll have the stockpile in the future.
The only problem with this is it is slow, and you might get fucked up in two ways because guess what, it's fucking election year. You either run out and can't train or you end up financially strained because you want to head off the panic buy season.
i was going to dump 360 on ammo, but i already am spending 500 on a scope. So i guess i shouldn't.
