Not the same anon but I have a story that actually happened.
My grandfather moved to the united states long after the fall of Germany and started his family life in America and since he served in the military the nazi hunters where also going around town asking questions about nazi veterans and they came up to my dad when he was a young teenager.
They actually followed my own father back to the farmland that my grandfather has and they begin to harass him until my grandfather marched outside with his Mauser that he got from some old pawnshop and shouted in german "leave my son alone and leave my family alone or by god I will take more allies down with me!" With the rifle aimed at them.
My father told me that his grandfather fired several shots at the nazi hunters cars as they where speeding away and no police where called because people didn't like to deal with police drama.
My grandfather passed away a few years ago and my father had the mauser buried with my grandfather because my father told me how much the mauser meant to him.
My father is now also old and the people never came back to bother my family ever again because of my grandfather and his rifle.
I'll miss my grandfather.

When the Soviet army retreated from east Germany in the 90s the soldiers essentially sold very last piece of equipment for money. They would drive their tanks into villages, offer RPGs for a few mark or sell their AK47s for some beers. Nobody would ask them about the stuff anyways.

Just imagine that he placed in the tube, it failed to launch, got psychically damaged (can't the picture now, but it looked like it was hit by a shrapnel), he brought it home and put in the drawer, probably showing it to friends over the years, before he decided to return it (even though this the 5th time this nation-wide operation takes place), goes to his car or bus and drives several kilometers to the nearest station and casually puts on the table with people around him jumping to cover.

Early 40's. It wasn't up until the 60's when the IDF started standardizing their weapons, and not until the late 70's/early 80's that they standardized a more modern arsenal.
