Post muzzle devices for just about any gun. I want to learn about some, and hopefully find rare parts that are a good steal for my AR-15 build.

Strike industries J-comp. Cheap, effective compensator, technically not a flash suppressor but still does a reasonable job at it.

Literally the best of all worlds.

>stable muzzle without the downwards push of some comps
>best recoil reduction of any hybrid device
>great flash suppression
>no extra concussion like with port type brakes

Best part? It's not a flash suppressor by legal definition, but suppresses flash better than A2 birdcage.

Because competition guys don't care about flash suppression or concussion, genius.

It is. Pic related is the EFAB, but they measured virtually identical in flash suppression (difference was 1-2 lux).

There are a couple that are a little more interesting, I like the idea of customising the EFFIN-A for instance. At the end of the day though, on a cost effectiveness basis it's impossible to beat the A2 birdcage for a FH or the Type 82/J-comp for a compensator.

Also if performance is all you're worried about, you can go ahead and buy the JP Eliminator.
Sure, it looks retarded, weighs a pound, creates a 2ft fireball, explodes the head of anyone shooting to the left or right of you and if you're shooting prone, it takes exactly one shot before you can't see shit over the massive dust cloud you've created, but it's the best performing brake and that's what you want, right?

I am actually looking for simple but effective at reducing recoil since I am doing a light weight build. I don't want ridiculous flash however since this will be my only rifle, and if I have to use it in a serious situation I don't want to blind the fuck out of myself.

I was looking at the loudener because i want to build a rifle for the lols, but have not found any place to buy it for 5.56, only for .308 and 7.62x39.

I'm looking for something to reduce/minimize felt muzzle blast and concussion out of my 10.5" AR pistol. Some flash hiding would be nice too.

The shorter the better. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

AFAB, EFAB, or M4-72.
>>
>>29579309

EFAB if you want balanced performance.
A linear comp if all you care about is redirecting the concussive blast.

AFAB is better suited for >14.5" barrels.
M4-72 will do the exact opposite of what he wants.

This guy. Linear Compensators will redirect all of the blast downrange and significantly reduce the perceived blast both to you and fellow shooters on the bench. I have them now on all my ARs since I exclusively shoot at public ranges.

Kaw Valley makes some of the more popular ones.

http://www.kawvalleyprecision.com/category-s/100.htm

You get a slight increase in linear recoil directly into your shoulder, but it more than makes up for the more comfortable time at the range and your shooting bench.

So I'm torn between these. The Midwest brake, the cheap ak74 style brake and the Lantac drakon. This will be used on my 23inch vepr and just want something to tame the x54r a bit.

I'm assuming I can use the 7.62 ak brakes on my Vepr since the thread size matches and it's basically the same bullet diameter.

I've got a x54r VEPR myself. I went with an Ares Arms Effin-A brake since it was adjustable but mainly because I got it for free. I have heard good things about the Lantac, but I haven't experienced using it sadly. The AA brake is pretty damn good at taming the blast though.

I miss having my BE Meyers 249F on my AR. It was just too long for a 16" AR so I'm saving it for a 14.5" build. I might even be able to get away with pinning and welding it on a 13.7" barrel.

The ATF cashed my Sandman-S check a couple of weeks ago and I almost want to get some kind of .30 cal rifle just to use the brake. Also they need to hurry up and start shipping more of the flash hiders, I have an SBR and a 20in I want to put the can on and don't really think I need the extra concussion in either case, not enough recoil to matter in an AR methinks.

Sure thing, as you see the way it's laid out, it forces the blast straight down range away from you. The peripheral blast and the blast towards you is really reduced, you can notice a major difference if you're next to someone who has a regular brake versus a linear compensator.

The downsides?

As I said earlier, the big one is that you will experience a noticeable increase in recoil, but directed straight back into your shoulder. As long as you have a solid grip and rest for your rifle, it's very manageable, but it is there so that's a thing.

Next, since it's redirecting all the blast downrange, and I haven't experienced this myself since I hardly shoot in the evenings, but I have heard from other folks that the muzzle flash will be very noticeable at night.

Other than that, they're great. If you're shooting a lot around other folks, or have a bunch of AR pistols or SBR style rifles, they're worth the investment imo.

Sounds interresting enough to check them out at my local gunsmith. I doubt he has one but maybe they are not that expensive. Thanks.
I am mostly shooting at a covered range with just one side open. So it is the noise wich really bothers me and also the dust after half an hour. If this helps to reduce both a bit i am set
>>
>>29590289
It certainly should, since nothing will be blasted down directly into the ground you should avoid the worst of the dust kickup from the muzzle.
