i think my lgs was charging $34 and for american eagle 500rd it was $54. ridiculous.
>>
The walmart in my town has em for $18.97 when they get them in
>>
>>29576182

About 17 to 20. My local stores always have them in supply, none of that 2 per person shit.
>>
paid 20 back around last spring
>>
>>29576203
No shit? I haven't seen a 500 rd box for $20 in like 6 years. Im in Alaska and these fuckers disappear within minutes off of the shelf. If I do see them in stock there at least $35-50. Last box I got was a couple of years ago and that was because I had a buddy that worked at one our sporting stores here and he pulled one off to the side for me. Speaking of that I'm down to about 150-200rds now I need to get some more. Over priced to hell and back but high demand I guess
>>
>>29576232
Fucking jealous. The price for them might be cheaper now here in AK but for a while those fuckers and .223/5.56 were first come first serve, can't count how many times I went to get some and both are totally wiped out on the shelves. Halted me from shooting for about an entire year, also that was during the whole "assault rifle ban" scares that were going on so everybody was stocking the fuck up on everything
>>
Paid 21 this last weekend

I refuse to pay gouger prices for something I used to pay $18.95 for three years ago.

it's unbelievable that you guys would have to pay more than we do even though ours is imported and the market is small. shit's fucked.

A 500 round box of .22LR for $99.95 at Big 5 in Vancouver, WA. I shit you not. The pirates. Wasn't even match grade.
>>

how about $50 for 500?
>>
>>29578177
that is the going rate, here in florida sometimes the big box stores like academy and bass pro and walmart always have good priced .22,, that said it is never in stock and when it does get there it sells out in no time at all
>>
I sell them for 19.99 at work

I would pay $25 for that. 22 can still be hard to find around me and other places (cough Cabela's cough) are still trying to charge $50 for that. No thanks! On the plus size I still have over 1,000 rounds stashed so no need to panic yet.

This is one of ten paint cans. I saw the writing on the wall back in '08. Not because I thought Obama had a chance in hell of doing anything in regards to the 2A, but because I knew that shysters and crooks would see it as a way to make money. Prior to the election I bought two 500 round bricks every week at Big 5 for $19.00 each. I'm now sitting on approximately 20,000 rounds of .22LR. I shoot, maybe, 300 rounds a month just to keep fresh. Feels good, man.
>>
I think my friend tales some shells when I go out shooting with him. Some are oxidised. But is there a way to prank him if he does. I have some really shitty rounds to put back in some boxes. I think that's why he only invites me.
>>
Dicks sporting good usually sells them for $20-22
>>
>>29576182
I'd pay up to something like 20 bucks if I was absolutely desperate and didn't own any guns chambered in anything else.
It's only 325rds after all, and 6c/r is my absolute limit on what I'll pay for 22lr.

Pretty sure you're thinking of the 500 round packs, friendo

Btw here's a link to /r/gundeals which I hardly ever hear mentioned on here even though they have great deals, just check on it once or twice a day. The only bad deal I've seen linked is refurbished M44's for like $300 from classic firearms.

Same here, but they only have .22lr for about a day or 2 and then they won't have it for 6-8 months afterwards.

I haven't seen more than 20 boxes of .22 in a Walmart in over 5 years.

When do you get to walmart to find .22? I heard its random but then I've also heard to get there early in the morning but then again it was at 2 different walmarts so idk. I've only seen .22 (CCI) at walmart once and I think I was there at around 10.
>>
>>29576182
First, .22 is fucking useless. Playing around with a .22 teaches very little about shooting because the recoil and rage are round specific and shitty. It's no longer even very cheap, and increasingly hard to get. Shooting time should be about firing an effective weapon. Quality time over quantity.

Second, can anyone explain why .22 is becoming increasingly hard to get? I'm not going to ever own a .22 or buy .22 ammunition, but apparently it's getting really hard to find. If anyone can explain why this shitty plink round is becoming rare, please enlighten me.
>>
>>29584286
>.22 is fucking useless

Shut up, stupid
>>
>>29576943
I remember when they were $8.50 out the door from walmart. I really do miss those days where myself and my brother could shoot 1,100 or 1,650 rounds in a day and not give a fuck.
>>
>>29584425
Mkay, you enjoy buying a gun in .22 that is basically a toy for children. Then bitch about the lack of ammunition availability. Your gun is under powered for any practical use, and now the ammunition for it is a pain in the ass to obtain. Great investment. Kill yourself kid, but don't use a .22 because you'll have to fire six times and then reload.

You're all children trying to defend a shitty round that wouldn't stop a retarded goat. Apparently /k/ is now the domain of kids who think the first gun Dad gave them is an actual weapon. Well, it's not. It's shit. But at least you had fathers to give you your first shitty gun, otherwise I would have thought you were niggers.
>>
>>29584926
Nice projecting. Let me guess, you're on a warpath because daddy wont buy you your first gun?
>>
>/k/ is the easiest board to troll
>>
>>29584960
And with that, I'll take your whiny little whimpers as your concession speech. Have fun thinking .22 is a gun and you're not a retard. It's probably a good thing you're not allowed any other caliber. Your stepdad probably gives you blanks anyway. Stay mad and impotent kid, nobody cares.
>>
>>29584960
No I think he's just assblasted that he laid out tons of cash on a designer AR, most likely in something like 300 blk, and thinks the cost of your ammo equals weapon worth. I've killed way way more animals hunting with a .22 than a .223, even prairie dog hunting. .22s are great for learning, are easily suppressible, and until recently the cheapest choice for marksmanship out to 75 yards.
>>
>>29576182

I hate all these shitty modern "realistic" FPS's that try and wrap all the classic arcade action in a wannabe CS wrapper.

Why can't kids play classic "gibs flying everywhere" shit like Quake 3 Arena and UT that have the universal medkit that can magically heal all the machinegun hits, chainsaw wounds, plasma burns, toxic exposures, etc that your character can accrue.

.22lr is literally retarded at this point. 9mm is the new .22, and better in every way anyway.
The fudds can spend all their money on 500,000 rounds of spitwad ammo, I'll spend my money on bullets that can actually kill something larger than a bunny wabbit.

Also I'm not that other anon that said that. I'm literally a second anon agreeing with him. Imagine that.

Son wants to go hunting
Start him with 22 on range, bolt action iron sights.
Teach basics, shots hundreds of rounds, graduates to scoped bolt action 243.

Go to shoot first pig.
Trigger control good
Takes shot, immediately chamber next round, muscle memory from all that 22
Have literally never been more proud.
>>
>>29584286
1st you are retarded trigger time is triggertime the fundamentals of marksmanship apply to any firearm you use.
2nd hoarding fudds, when dumbfuck's panic buy the entire supply it reduces the available supply for everyone else that in turn inflates the price of the available supply especially when you get fucksticks who buy up the supply with the intention of gouging other people.
>>
>>29584926
