Does K have any reccomendations on a good plinking rifle? Is there any reason to get a lever action over a bolt or semi auto? Is there a hilarious .22 conversion for a fuckhuge rifle I can buy? I already have a hunting rifle and pistol. I'm just looking for something to shoot for cheap or to introduce idiots to guns.

I like to plink with 556, or are you specifically looking for a .22? If a .22 only just get any of them, they are all shit. Although my personal favorite is my TOZ-17

Not specifically a .22. But it's a rifle I want to get some of my friend's kids into shooting with. Alongside fun and gun use on private land. I might just find some well priced good AR parts and build one but I don't really want an AR. Everyone in Texas has one. I may look into getting a TOZ.

What kind of 10/22? Also I've been hearing they've had some quality issues in the last few years.
get a used 1022 on armslist for $150.
Then buy a SB-X barrel.
Then buy a stamp+can for 700.
Best plinker money can buy. Your choice of optic

>SB-X barrel
Interesting. So the barrel is ~12" but the permanently attached shroud brings the technical length to ~16". What a clever solution.
Any recommendations on stocks? I hear a lot of positives about the Hogue overmolded stock.

If you get a 10/22 ironwood designs makes a WA2000 kit for it. I believe that meets your criteria.
There's all kinds of fucking conversion kits for them too. Kits to turn it into an Mp5, p90, or a fucking space gun.

The magpul 10/22 stock feels pretty good.
A Marlin 60 semi-auto .22LR is a perfect introductory rifle. It's more than that, though. I find myself shooting it much more than my AR because it's cheap, quiet, lightweight, and amazingly accurate.

10/22
Barbie for men. Can turn the fucker into literally anything.

It will outshoot a 10/22 all day long everyday. And for half the price.
