Shield VS P239

Which is better?
>>
>>29573776

shield. by a mile.
>>
>>29573792
I'm stuck between the 239 and the shield. I have yet to try a shield especially one with an apex trigger. If the apex is nearly as good as the sig's srt, I might make the choice to get the shield over it.
>>
>>29573792
Says the man who's never shot the P239.

I'd go with the P239 - and I'd get it in either 9mm or 357 sig.

You can't beat the trigger, or the full metal frame.

Shit's cash bro.

>You can't beat the trigger, or the full metal frame.

I have an SRT for my 226 on the way since some old dude let me shoot his Gen 2 P239 and I was blown away by it ever since.

Would you say the extra weight, size and less potential capacity is worth getting the sig over a shield?
>>
>>29573901
It just depends on what you're looking for; if you can adequately carry a 226 - I'd go with that every time. But for slim bodies the P239 is one of the best single stack pistols on the market. The only trouble is getting one at a fair price.

The shield is not a bad pistol - the sig is just a better package in the ways I prefer.
>>
>>29573920
I'm really skinny and I just don't know if I can carry a 239 easily as say a Glock 43 or Shield.

>The only trouble is getting one at a fair price.

Talking to some dude on armslist that has a lightly used Gen 2 with 2 mags and he's selling it for $630, that's a fair price right?

All I need to do is go to a gunshop and try out a Shield and see if I can shoot it as well as a 239. I really want to get the Sig over the newer single stack 9mms.
>>
>>29573776
Why not a sig p290?
>>
>>29573951

Depends on what you mean by gently used, but under $700 seems like a fair deal - not a great one - but a fair one.

You're going to be disappointed by the shields trigger if you haven't shot an M&P before. They're different from Glocks - spongy - even after the changes they made from the first generation.

In my opinion you will always shoot a full metal frame pistol better - the added weight is a blessing to your advantage.

That said - if you want a sig, buy a sig. You won't be disappointed.

Specifically want DA/SA or a smaller striker fired.
>>
>>29573822

shield with apex trigger is great. it's lighter, better trigger(yes i've fired both), more aftermarket accessories. try carrying/shooting both and your decision will be made for you.

Shield.

But anon, that's a MK23

and I already have a 226
>>
>>29573776

Admittedly I've never shot a Shield, but my 9mm p239 is my favorite pistol atm.

Super accurate, low recoil, crisp trigger out of the box, A-1 handling, reliable, and deliciously over engineered.

It is patrician to be sure. Everyone I've talked to who ever sold one always regrets it later.

Rent both and see what you like OP.

Is the Shield considerable easier to carry than a P239 with nothing but a slim fitting t shirt and jeans with appendix carry?
>>
>>29573776

I would get the shield unless something about it especially bothers you. The shield is a lot smaller does everything the P239 does for $350 cheaper.

>P239 Gen 2

>srt trigger $50

>Shield
>trijicon night sights $140
>apex trigger kit $100

>get email alert that psa just got $350 no thumb safety Shields in

P239, also dats muh P239 but I'm glad you liked it enough to save it anon.

Here it is pre-G10s
>>
>>29574220
Are the g10's slimmer than the regular grips?
>>
>>29574234
I'd say they are pretty close in thickness on the gun. I honestly couldn't tell you unless I broke out a set of calipers later. They don't appear to be any thicker but my god do they make a difference in the hand.

After I put them on it was like night and day.

Helps if you give reasons to back up your opinion.

Is your 239 a Gen 2?

In terms of what, carry?
Shield is probably more practical. smaller, lighter, some more upgrades to it. you could use the sig too, but that's my opinion.
The big problem with the X vs X threads (case in point, OP) is youre asking about comparing two different things. The sig is more of a single stack duty gun, where the shield is more of a subcompact single stack sort of pocket gun. If you were asking about a shield vs a glock 43 that's a little easier but this is apples to oranges m8
