If North launched a combined invasion of the south, who would prevail if the US DID NOT intervene? Would China become involved? Would Russia back the north? Discuss
Interesting topic OP. Bump.

Considering in that situation the south refuses to lead its own army and has the US do it (its true, look it up.) we would have to get involved...
Ignoring that and somehow Seoul doesnt get leveled and it turns to a mass infantry charge, i suspect mass NK desertion as they start dispersing through the ROK to pillage and scavenge when they see the first grocery store...

Aren't KPA personnel fairly well paid compared to civilians though? Also, what if Russia supported them, openly or otherwise?

Never.
South Korea.

China would not back up the North like it did last time. Beijing has mentioned that it is fine with an eventual reunification of the two Koreas as long as the South doesn't get too close with the US. The most China would do would be to station army units near the border to deal with the hordes of refugees attempting to cross over into Chinese territory.
Also now that Russia is no longer the Soviet Union, it has better things to do than prop up a failed relic of the Cold War.
NORKs would likely succumb to the onslaught of deculture.

By "fairly well paid" you mean "Get food ration priority", then yes.
