>>29564273
>>
>>29564594
Why?
>>
>>29564594

Because it is illegal to ship a firearm directly to a residence. Only much older firearms that fall under C&R can be sent directly to your home if you hold a C&R license. Excluding Black Powder weapons.

Modern arms can only be sent to an FFL holder.

Either your father has one of this licenses, you're lying, or he just committed a MASSIVE felony.

The laws I just described to you are Federal laws, not state laws. They apply across the entirety of the United States.

That's a nice little pump 22. Its a rifle in a small caliber, so it won't be very loud.

Give it a chance, wear earpro, and you'll probably like it.

Do it for dad, even if you are initially scared by the prospect. He is trying to bond with you, and develop a hobby you can share.
>>

Ear plugs and ear muffs.

And dude....you're dad is trying to bond with you in one of the most man-to-man bro ways possible. You should be grateful that he cares enough to take the risk that you might be uncomfortable. If you're really worried try this it's a little trick:
>TALK TO HIM
Tell him your concerns and ask him for help.

I can almost guarantee you're going to love it man. Seriously, there are few things in this world better than going shooting with dad.
>>
You'll probably flinch at first, but I assure you you'll probably like it.

Don't be afraid of it, you're the one that's going to be in control. Not much different than playing CS, just you feel the impulse. It's a lot "scarier" being around and watching someone shoot than it is being behind the trigger.

First couple times shooting, you might get really shaky. That's just the adrenaline. Over time your body gets used to it.

>>
>>29564708
This is normal. Rent is pretty high where I am (Edmonton), so you either live with family, a roommate, or with a GF/sex dom you met on /k/. I'm staying with family for a bit while I upgrade to a Class 1. In return, I pay rent and help them around the house.
>>
>>29564743
They actually WANTED me back after I graduated. It's cheaper than living on my own, and they still care for me.

It's nice being able to repay them (somewhat). I bought them a 25th anniversary cruise, and helped dad restore my grandpa's 1972 Dodge Dart. I also bought my mom a Chanel handbag.
>>
Remember to keep you finger off the trigger unless you are going to shoot, and never point it at anyone. Ever.

When you do go to shoot make sure whatever you're shooting at doesn't have anyone near the target or even close to your line of fire
>>
>>29564718
Buy some Remington muffs likes these:

http://www.amazon.com/Remington-M31C-M-31-Premium-Earmuff/dp/B000F7P20G/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1460345851&sr=8-8&keywords=remington+ear+protection

and you'll barely be able to hear a .22lr. I own this pair, and I'm also sensitive to loud noises, but with them on I can shoot anything comfortably.

A .22lr, then. With earpro, you won't get much of a noise at all. And perhaps talk to your dad. Maybe you can slap a suppressor on it-then you really won't hear anything with a .22.
Who knows, OP, you may come to like it. It feels goddamn great when you get good at shooting, just like vidya. Practice some basic safety procedures, and don't be a sperg. And if you can't get over your fear of loud noises, you can move up to larger suppressed firearms.

Not in the adult world. All of my friends who still live at home at ~25 and are in school, I and every other independent adult looks down on them even though we know they're just afraid to do it all at once. I can't help it. I supported myself while in school. It was a scary move. So I know that they're just scared, and we all know that everyone else knows it, too. The only ones who don't realize it are the ones who are ~25 living at home for any reason.

Move out man. Room with strangers and start learning how to support yourself, you're not in High School anymore. You don't have to keep acting like you are.

This is the ideal life imo. My immediate family has always lived within walking distance of each other. Once upon a time we all lived in the same apartment complex.

I don't want to live at home forever but it wouldn't be that bad if I ended up having to, Ma doesn't want me to go either. Granted that might be guilt because thanks to her I got saddled with debt and collections by the time I turned 20.

Anyway, enjoy it Anon. They're only around for so long. Never mind what anyone else says. Do what makes you and your family happy.

>>am scared of loud noises, can't even be around fireworks.

Start wearing ear pro man. Double up on ear pro, so wear both buds and electronic muffs. Dial the sound to where it sounds comfortable.

Seriously, when doubled up you won't hear shit. Especially if he got you a .22, it'll just feel like a gun that kinda shakes in your hand when you pull the trigger.

You can use it as therapy, slowly increasing the volume on the muffs to get more and more acustomed to loud sudden bangs - it might help you overcome your fear.

My dad wasn't against guns or anything, he just never owned them (except his grandpa's heirloom .22lr from like 1930).

Your dad might be one of the types that doesn't think hearing protection is necessary with guns. It is necessary. .22 isn't very loud at all, especially not from a rifle, but you should still wear plugs at the very least.

Sounds like your dad wants to do something fun with you. Shooting .22 rifle is as fun as it gets. I think you'll love it OP. Be safe, look over the rules of firearm safety (if your dad doesn't have the sense to instruct you himself), and have fun.

>Fuck it, why not.

>Well that turned out better than expected
>Go over to Ks house
>We start shooting, but Nick doesn't want to. No matter what I tell him, he won't shoot the fucking AR. Like he thinks because it's so loud that we're fucking with him about it having little to no recoil.
>I even fire it one handed for him, still pussies out
>K apparently has a problem with the .17HMR, it was a shitty BSA scope that kept shifting zero on him plus he's a bad shot
>Nick warms up to this one a bit more, but when I start shooting to diagnose it, everything goes to shit

I'm 23 and don't think that I will leave home any time soon either. I make roughly 35,000 per year and my career field doesn't offer any advancement past this point so I'm planning my life around this number. Moving out is really freaking expensive so I can choose to leave and barely get by on my own or live with my parents and spend $1,000 dollars per month on guns and going to the bar. Not a difficult choice to make. I can be ultra comfy, surrounded by milsurp, and spend a few nights per week hammered or sit in a small sparsely furnished apartment alone and without any disposable income. Do you know what NEET stands for, champ?
Not in Education, Employment, or Training.
Tell me what tense "graduated" is.
>>
if I helps imagine it like this
(my dad did this to explain it to me)
the barrel of a gun is a laser that extends ~a mile (depending on caliber) losing focus gradually.
so don't slice anybody with your op lightsaber

Still to young to really know the world.
>In college
Nothing special until you finish, even then it's nothing special.
>Job
Prob nothing special.
>National guard
Kek, fuck off with that gay shit.

How about this.
>29
>Never went to college, instead learned a trade.
>Master plumber who works for himself, charges 93 an hour.
>Fuck national guard, don't need their welfare to help support my ass

At your age I was already a journeyman plumber, was making almost 40 an hour.

when you shoot imagine the gun won't fire. that's a lot of the skill, not flinching and keeping your eyes open. get some snap caps and dry fire your gun a bunch.

Meant more about being a decent human being. Living with my parents is shitty, but my 2 jobs pay crap and I'm supporting myself through community college as I'm holding on to my GI bill for a 4 year.
