Do i need/should i tell my Parent I'm buying a gun?

of course with a concealed carry license.
Thinking i would only keep it in the car, on me at night & on me when riding motorcycle. of course this could change to 24/7.

Only for my own protection & will take it to the range to practice.
Dad owns a Glock & an AR, but he doesn't use them at all anymore.

I've heard too many stories and seen too many videos of people getting murdered or robbed when they could of protected themselves.

>tell my parents
what are you 12?
>>
>>29554239
Need to? No.
If you live with them, sure?
>>
>>29554268
Lol jesus christ got the same response on other board.

Going on 20, planning on buying one at 21
>>
>>29554297
clearly it's a pertinent question
>>
If you live with them then yes I'd say you should tell them out of common courtesy. Of course practice safe storage of the weapons, and as far as car carry goes just know your local laws.

Someone broke into our old house even with an alarm system. Dad found the dude leaving and when he grabbed the gun he was gone down the street so he just called the cops. Literally took a jar of change, a pair a shoes and my broken laptop in the living room

lmfao, here in Florida you're done m8

Similar situation as you're in
>ask dad if I can buy a gun at 18
>no anon, get a job
>turn 19 get a job, save my money
>ask both my mom and dad if it's okay if I buy a gun with my own money
>Why anon? You gonna shoot yourself in the head?
>you don't need one
>year later have an ar15, ak74 and a p226
>they don't have a clue
>getting a p239 soon
>basically going to conceal carry hardmode

Shit sucks considering I absolutely hate lying, especially living one out. Constantly needing to meticulously plan range trips and dry fire sessions.

It's up to you. You literally cannot get caught for having a small .380 like a Kahr and carry it in a pocket holster, stashing ammo around should be even easier.

a month ago i came home early from a canceled class to find my dad in my closet searching for something.
It smelled musty because I'm was beating my dick like a maniac for a full day and he thought it smelled like weed.
lol

So lets just say i have private space

no private space
>>
>>29554448
I'm fortunate enough to have parents that respect my privacy. I'm pretty sure my mom hasn't stepped into my room in four years or so.

ayy FL here too

>Tools? No.

But guns are tools anon
>>
Do you ask your parents for permission to buy pornography like Playboy? No.
Alcohol (you're not old enough to drink, but let's say you were 21)? No.
Fishing gear? No.
Books? No.
Some kind of work license/certificate? No.
Sports gear? No.
Knives? No.
Tools? No.
Gaming consoles? No.
Computers? No.

That said, IF you ever say yes to any of these, don't even try buying a gun and keeping it a secret. You'll end up with so much guilt, you're going to tell them later and you're going to get fucked over relationship-wise.
Anyway, this all comes down to how much you want something, how much privacy you have at home/on your car, and everything else.
Also, keeping a gun in a car is kinda shit. Can you even imagine all the condensation and evaporation cycles it'll go through during summer and spring?
It might rust badly and shit.

It's one of the reasons I don't get how people can have "truck guns" and have them work well.

>>29554487
Sorry, I was talking about car repair tools.
>>
>>29554239
It really depends on how shitty your parents are. There's a really good chance you'll end up like >>29554425 or worse. Your best bet is to get out of the house. Let's look at the pros and cons here.

Pros: You can defend yourself. Also your dad is hasguns so he might back you up on that. Depends on how much of a bitch he is.

Cons: If you ever get caught it will probably be taken away from you and put in your fathers safe until you move out, or destroyed/sold. If you are CCing it a lot you have a pretty good chance of getting caught by your parents or your stupid friends that you tell saying something out loud. Depending on how gay they are this might influence them into kicking you out sooner or something stupid.

Basically what I would do is try to talk your dad into it and exclude your mother from the situation for as long as possible.

Alternatively, if you are extra snakey, convince them you are going to buy a gun for the range and leave it locked in the safe. Then replace it with a heavy airsoft replica.

>of course with a concealed carry license.
Won't they have to contact people close to you as references? Or is that NY/NJ only tier of bullshit?

Try moving out first, that will make you more of an adult than buying a nugget.

Never, doing be stupid.

>Thinking i would only keep it in the car
I find this practice negligent and irresponsible.
>>
>Do i need/should i tell my Parent I'm buying a gun?
Be courteous. I told mine, my mother was up in arms, my father told me "well it's not going in any of my safes". Then he took me aside, and whispered that he was looking to purchase an antique 1899 safe and needed to put it somewhere, and my room might just be the ticket.
>of course with a concealed carry license.
good
>Thinking i would only keep it in the car,
bad
>on me at night & on me when riding motorcycle. of course this could change to 24/7.
no problems
>Only for my own protection & will take it to the range to practice.
Consider shooting competition, range time is fine but dynamic shooting is where you really hone your skills.
>Dad owns a Glock & an AR, but he doesn't use them at all anymore.
Irresponsible, if you own guns you ought to make sure you maintain them and know how to use them.
>I've heard too many stories and seen too many videos of people getting murdered or robbed when they could of protected themselves.
Welcome to the club. Enjoy your stay.
>>
I just brought home a scattergat one day and told my mom to knock if she ever needs me at night, the proceeded to buy an AK and an AR. She's not a Pro-Gun for say bit she'd rather had have me save my money to move out kek

>living with your parents while being over 18 years of age

Move out, you manchild.

But yes, if you live with them you should tell them. It's common courtesy.
