Is Walter the correct pronounciation? I always thought it was WULTHER. It just sounded really stupid when he pronounced it like that.

German pronunciation is closer to "valtuh"

Even if you're not gonna germanize it, the th is pronounced just like a T

Walther is a German surname. It can be pronouced slightly different depending on where you are from in Germany or if you have a received pronunciation (from school or something).

Walther deutsche waffenfabrik (or is it sportwaffen now?) pronounces it like anyone else in southern Germany: VALTER.

The "W" is a softer "V" sound, and the "TH" is a harder sound to the point where the H is nearly silent.

Also if your from Saar-land nobody understands you anyway so fuck off.

It's actually "Valt-er" like proper German pronounciation.

It sounds really fucking stupid when you pronounce it like that.

"Wall-ther" in English, "Val-ter" in German.

Proper pronunciation: vull-ter

In German, the w has a v sound. You kind of go over the th sound and just make a t sound. You don't really accentuate the er at the end like you do in English, most German speakers will make it an "uh" sound at the end.

The gun shop guy is kind of doing a mix of German and English pronunciation. Walther, Walter, vull-ter. I'd say are all acceptable.
