So what does /k/ think of the M110 SASS being made available to the public? It seems the company is releasing 110 of them for about $22k per rifle; pic related.
>>29548686
Oh, for those who want to know more about the gun and where to buy it...
Read about it @ http://www.snipercentral.com/u-s-army-m110-sass/
Buy it @ http://www.hinterlandoutfitters.com/knights-armament-m110-sass-limited-edition-rifle-package-nato-match-grade-semi-auto-fixed-stock-color-scopepackage-included-limited-suppressor-sold-separately-p-49349.html
>>29548686
Lmao I mean if you really don't have anything more responsible to do with $22k and you really want one go for it.
It's your money.
>>29548709
I personally am not buying it nor would I. I was just wondering what /k/ thinks of it being sold this way.
$22k? Suck my cock, knights. No wonder the army went with the G28
They've sold them in the past too. The one I really, really, really want is the Somali bringback SR-25s from Operation Gothic Serpent. Unfortunately I'm a poorfag who will never own either.
>>29548738
I guess they can slap whatever price tag they want on it. You can buy an SR-25 for $4500 and throw that glass on it with a suppressor for under $10k. I guess the M110 package has some other different cooler stuff but I can't see it coming out to $22k unless they throw in a thermal imager with the scope.
>22k for an ar-10 with a leupold scope
what the flying fuck
7.62 NATO is mediocre.
>>29548686
Or you could just get this.
>>29548872
But then I wouldn't feel like Bradley Cooper when I shoot it before masturbating.
>>29548872
I'm actually debating about buying this:
>See pic
On April Fools when they made 4chan look like G+ I posted in a thread saying I would continue to post until I got AK, AR or LR, next pic related...
>>29548927
Is it a stock action or are you going to get it blueprinted?
>>29548927
... until I got AK, AR or LR as my initials. If I were to get AK I would buy an AK. If I got AR I would buy or build an AR. if I got LR I would buy a long rifle. He recommended a Rem700 and I gave him a link to show me how he would have it built. Top pic was how ( You buy base rifle from Sniper Central, they ship it to your gun dealer with a UPS sticker, you send it back and they custom-build it ( to avoid being called a manufacturer ) and then they send it back to you ) anon would have built it. He also mentioned some lever-actions he liked as we further talked so I might just cheap-out and buy a Henry as my first LR ( given his username and the fact he did like lever-actions ) but I do have enough for both.
Btw anon, if you were actually a she sorry for calling you a he.
>>29548960
Just buy a Ruger Precision rifle and use the rest for a bipod/rings/glass/ammo.
>>29548946
This might help...
http://www.snipercentral.com/rifle-package-purchase-process/
>>29548977
I do sometimes think of getting the Ruger American but, as dumb as it sounds, I want to hold true to what I was discussing with anon that day and either get a lever-action or >>29548927 like he first recommended. The only thing on that order I would change is keeping the Bushnell scope that is default with the package which would bump the price to $2005.
>>29548983
Thats laughable, why even bother putting all that shit on a stock barreled action? Who actually buys this bullshit?
>>29549010
That setup for 1800 bucks is a fucking joke, especially with the stock barrel/action.
>>29549020
I don't know enough about firearms say you're wrong so I won't. I also told him ( I don't have it screened but you can go to the archive ) that I wouldn't be buying from them and would just be using this as a base to do it myself or have it done locally for cheaper. That having been said I'm still thinking of going with a Henry given I've heard many good things with only one constant negative: their sights often times come needing adjustments or replacements.
>>29548686
if it is semi-auto why can't they just sell normal ones to the public? 22k can buy me a nice machine gun.
>>29549060
If you want a long rifle pretty much anything will do, if you want a custom long rifle expect to pay money for it. Most of the cost will be in the barrel and the blueprinted action if you go with a Rem 700 or other custom action.
>>29549064
they artificially inflate/justify the cost by limiting availability with low production runs, basically they're just greedy fucks taking fools money for a fluffed AR-10.
>>29548686
>$22k
Just buy a fucking transferable AR for that price
what the fuck
>>29548686
LIMITARD EMISHUN FOR TARDS
As if $10K couldn't get you 4 equivalent rifles.
>>29548740
And the G28 is about the same price soooo
>>29548811
Bingo. Everyone likes to act like it's just a bare rifle in a pelican case without counting all the other shit
>>29548686
I could make you one for $400
>>29549100
>>29549111
>>29549137
most of the time these are marketed towards larger entities that want to buy them for collection purposes or raffling off later. Would i buy it now? no i don't have 22k just sitting around. Would i buy it if i was full of money and wanted a collectible to sell later? Yes
basically if your bitching about the price then don't buy it as it isn't for you
>>29549737
Recommend build list for a noob?
>>29549717
they are buying them for 12k with S&Bs
what was the contract price for the m110s?
anyways you can get an mr762 and beef it up for waaaaaay less than 22k
ITT: poorfag college students bitching about how there's collectors out there that actually make more than 13k a year and can afford these kinds of novelties
>>29549717
>And the G28 is about the same price soooo
Nope, they were around 12k including Schmidt & Bender scope, spare parts, training and service.
>>29548746
>really want is the Somali bringback SR-25s from Operation Gothic Serpent
>look it up
Muh dick
>>29548686
I've used it, it's fun, but it's nothing radically amazing at that price.
You're paying a lot for the name.
>>29550298
Now I really want one
>>29550338
Old school SR-25 is best SR-25
>>29548686
Good for them, I guarantee they will sell every single one of them.
>>29548686
if i was wealthy i'd probably get one
but i'm not
It doesn't even include the supressor.
I could literally buy an M16 Lower and have way more fun for that price
The M110 is a nice system, but not worth anywhere near $22k.
I want one, but that's way too expensive
>>29548704
>Buy it
Top key, they don't even have it in stock. They would special order it from KAC which would probably take forever to get it to you.
I think our M110 cans have been on order for about a year or so with no update.
You'd be better of getting the ECR Test gun, unless you just really wanted the package. KAC was doing a shot show special with a free clip on NV unit with purchase of the M110 package.
Unfortunately haven't played around with it, but did get to play around with a very similar package but a MK11 Mod 0 instead.
>>29550761
Sure looks like it does.
I thought the M110 was a tremendous pile of crap and that only like half were fielded because the rest were canibalized for parts since there were no spares cuz lol Knights.
>>29550298
You find these too?
>>29551337
KAC is a tier 1 company as far as what they do for the civilian market. I honestly would have no problem shilling for them and do so any chance I get.
>>29551360
>>29551382
And I'm spent.
>>29551337
>>29551360
>>29551382
>>29551388
Muh dick
>1.5-2k on AR 10
>2-5k on high-tier scope
>1K on accessories and case
>.3k on professional cerekote
>.7k on suppressor
>Same thing at half the price
