so, I'm getting my setup ready to start shooting in Heavy Metal competition. I already have a .308 rifle(pic mostly related) and I have a .45acp pistol(1911 officers model). I already have my kit ordered and should be here by the middle of next week.

I'm just trying to figure out what 12ga pump to go with. I had a 870 express awhile ago and I don't particularly want to go with another 870. and I'm wondering if I should bite the bullet and get a new .45acp pistol for competition.

Anybody have any suggestions?
>>
the fuck is with that setup you have there
>>
>>29547564
what do you mean?
>>
>>29547552
>that fucking muzzle brake
>RMR on riser
why?
>>
>>29547564
this
sight height is retarded, especially with the collapsible stock

OP is gonna be slow as fuck having to search for a dot every time
>>
>>29547652
this isn't my rifle. but I'm running a similar setup. B&T mount with a vortex strikefire, collapsible stock(new style, not the old style like pic), and I haven't decided on what muzzle brake yet. leaning more towards a AK74 style in15x1 thread.

>>29547652
actually it's not that bad. about like having a red dot on an AK. you us a chin weld instead of a cheek weld.
>>
>>29547710
Swap your stock, get a lower mount or cheek riser, get a brake that actually works

>you us a chin weld instead of a cheek weld.

When you're stressed, you're not gonna find that dot
Get a better alternative
>>
>>29547840
Chin welding isn't wrong. It's a different school, more common in Russian doctrine.

See: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=98BRnb-I3zY
>>
>>29547876
and if you look at modern Rusky guns and optics, they have switched to lower mounts and cheek risers via Zenitka stocks

chin welding is outdated, slow, and obsolete
>>
>>29547552
Have you shot 3 gun before?
>>
>>29547840
like what kind of brake? again, the rifle in pic is not mine. pic's of said rifle are on my phone and I've been having issues with it for the past week. Honestly, chin weld's are not as bad as you think. you just have to train it into you with ready up drills. then it becomes second nature.

we had to do the same kind of training when using ACOG's for reactive fire drills and MOUT. you just do ready up drills until aim it becomes literally second nature.
>>
>>29548051
Lantac Dragon for a start
AK74 brakes aren't as effective as newer designs
>>
>>29547993
no. the closest I've ever come to that is doing live fire "run and gun" courses, reactive fire training, and mout training in the army.
>>
Questionable rifle setup aside, yes get a full size pistol
>>
>>29548276
any suggestions on what to get?

>>29548065
anything that comes in15x1? I was looking at the AK74 style as it's pretty cheap at $24 and will give SOME help.

finally got my phone to work. pic related.

1. that is nothing like a claw mount
2. get the lower 1/3 cowitness mount or even lower if possible
3. your poorfag magpuls are way too big, they'll catch on shit
4. find a better brake
>>
>>29548502
the "magpul" shit is just tape. makes it easier for picking up off the ground for recovery. that flash hider isn't installed anymore. damn near blew it apart from normal use. metal fatigue at each end of the ports.
>>
>>29548502
He said he had a B&T mount, which is what that is, and that isn't a muzzle brake, it's a G28 flash hider and it's fucking nice.
>>
>>29548587
>the "magpul" shit is just tape

Surprise, mag pull is a thing invented a long time ago and magpul took the idea and ran with it, naming their company after it because it was the only thing they made for years

Magpuls are designed for easy pulling out of a PC, not for recovery.

And I'm saying get a brake better than the AK74

Feels shitty man, I really don't want to pay close to 400-500$ for a fucking barrel but it was the only one my guy could order for MSRP.

Wouldn't mind a slick optic either, but whatever.
>>
>>29549013
I will own an AUG one day and I will also pay for the 20 inch barrel because fuck it

Does anyone sell one with a bipod?

Probably your best option, ask him about getting a 20" barrel AUG, don't bother with the 16. There are also 24" but no bipod. No idea where to find out.
>>
>>29548623
that flash hider was pretty sweet! then the posts started to bow out and it developed cracks at each end of all 5 ports. talked to hkparts and they requested it back for damage analysis.

>>29548700
I know this. we use to do this with our M4 mags with gutted 550 cord through the bottom plate on the mags. it was actually more for clipping them to a D-ring on our kit so we wouldn't loose our mags(this was before drop pouches). it works OK for pulling magazines out of pouches. just have to train for it.

>>29549028
second this. but i'm really torn between the 20in and the 16in.

It's a QD barrel, get both

so I'm seeing pic related on his site, but I can't find the ad in his listing

Does he have them for sale?
Because I would pay many burgerbucks for an AUG, 20 and 16 inch barrels, and original optic

Nigger you need a B&T Aimpoint Low mount and no riser.
>>
>>29551613
the aimpoint I want is like 700shekles. Id rather buy a M145 for that price or save the extra cash and get an ACOG.
>>
>>29551713

It's just the lowest picante mount for roller guns. Will work with any micro red dot. That's a T1 in that mount in my pic. It sits just ever so slightly above absolute cowitness. Getting a G3 rear sight drum with a notch for 100Y is an important thing to get.

Just curious is all, but why?

I was using a truglo micro, but after a year and something like 1400rnds, It's finally started acting up. might get another, or just send my Vortex out for warranty repair. IDK, haven't decided. might just get e 2.5x-3x compact optic.
