Hello /k/ not Ed your advice.
Gen 1 Walther p99. Walther import markings. Comes with 3 mags, at least one backstrap.
Functions fine. Minimal wear on the breach/barrel. Bore looks good.
$450
Serial is 03xxxx
No signs of holster wear. Didn't check the rails.
The frame still has a heavy grease on the inside. Didn't check the rails.
Feels solid. Smooth action. Again, rifling looks good. Bunch of lint inside the barrel, but nbd.
The slide looks like it's Koln proofed. Frame has the little Ulm antler.
Serials match.
do you want it?

At that price you aren't getting a great deal, but you're also not getting ripped off. That's a fair price, and it's a good gun, if you want it I see no reason not to buy it.

Yes. Pretty much for the James Bond relation. But I also love the feel, I love the trigger. And as I understand it, they're great guns on top of all that.
>>29546926
That's what I figured. 450 seems fair, given that it also has the box mags and the backstrap.
The box is buried in the shop, so I haven't seen all that yet, definitely would not buy unless I pour through everything first.
Never bought a used gun before, anything else I should ask about if I decide to purchase?
Buy it

I'd say he's getting a bit of a deal for the 3rd mag.
Bumping for more advice. Don't know a huge amount about the old p99s. Is there anything to watch out for?
Recalls?
Any parts that need replacing after x amount of rds?
>>29546549
Get the stainless Sig below it
>>29547333
I really want the p7 on the shelf below the SIG.

James bond started using it in tomorrow never dies. One of the dumbest fucking bond films ever. So cool points for being a bond gun, but loses points for debuting in a stupid movie.
>>29547476
But he did use it in Casino Royale, one of the best Bond films. So it got some of its Street cred back.
I'm glad they went back to the ppk though, it fits alot better with Bonds character.
But there's just something about those Gen 1 p99s...
>>29547754
The lines are just so good man. Slab slides look great and I even kinda like the ski hump. Dgaf about the rail either. I was so disappointed by the ppq aesthetically
>>29548172
They ruined the p99 when they added a picatinny rail.
I get why they did it, but it killed the aesthetics, especially after they rounded out the trigger guard.
The PPQ looks better than the modern p99s. But it's not the same as those Gen 1s
>>29547300
They are solid pistols, the as trigger is sweet. Only drawback is lack of rail, but if its a carry/range shooter that doesnt matter. Walther mags run 30-40 new so three mags is a plus. They had a sister model made by S&W the sw99. You can find those mags cheaper, just because they say S&W, both made by megar.
>>29548363
Also check the mags. The current followers are blue, the orange ones can be hit or miss. There should be a extra indent on the left side of the mag. Older mags could engage the slide stop prematurly, that indent solved that
>>29547300
here you go anon
>>29547458
not a bad choice, but does it come with an extendo?
>>29548389
Two Walther factoruly 10 Rd mags. One mecgar 16 rounder. 10 rds suck, but they exported these things right at the start of the Clinton band.
>>29548494
No extendo
>>29548790
"Clinton ban"
Black followers on all mags.
>>29548278
To be fair, just about any rail without something on it looks like shit. The exception being single slots.Thank God for the XC1, it's like a bandaid for rails
>>29549301
I kinda like the sp-01
>>29550446
Those do look better than say a monolithic 1911, but compared to a TS frame or 97....it needs a light
Will the new p99 mags work in the old gen p99s?
Or do you pretty much have to get lucky on gunbroker?
>>29552324
Old mags are interchangeable but do not have non-tilt followers so beware.
