If you're even considering a G43, it's cause you have or want to conceal carry. It's possible to carry a G19 for concealment, but not ideal.
Get a G26, it'll be more versatile. I have a 19 and the 26 is my favorite. I just shot both today.

Yo what's up man. 26 master race here. I was amazed at how little it is and how much firepower it has for its size and how easy to shoot my 26 was. In my opinion easily the best overall handgun in my arsenal.
Anything that doesn't at least carry 10+1 rounds of 9mm doesn't make me feel very safe in illegal and nig nog land.
And if you're feeling cheeki breeki you can always smack a 33 round magazine on the glock 26, keep a spare one in a back pack or car, home, whatever.

Yall need to chill out with the overpriced fucking calibers. First timers should get a fucking 9 so they can plink away at the range, enjoy low prices low recoil and easily get parts/mods. On the merits of cost and availability alone 9mm should be #1 on every pistol short list. 9mm won't give a baby shooter a flinch like 10mm, it isn't an overpriced neutered afterthought pandered to PDs like .40s&w.

Get a fucking G19, practice. once you become acquainted with it then look into a smaller gun for a more versatile CC. Pistol shooting is a whole other ballgame, don't get bad habits from trying to hang onto a stubby subcompact without being at least proficient on a full grip. Enjoy shooting for $0.16 per round, while those fucks pay $0.22 and up on a good day.

19 or a Gen4 23 with the parts for 9mm conversion.
You can chop the grip to Glock 26 length if you're a bitch about concealment. It can accept a variety of magazines. Tons of aftermarket support. It can serve a function a jack of all trades: home defense, daily carry, duty, range queen.
If you want a single stack 9 just get a Shield. It's cheaper than a 43, reliable, and has better capacity out of the box.

theres a better after market for parts and upgrades and its easier to learn on. The 43 is something you get next when youre looking to fill a special niche, like a smaller pocket gun
