Man, hate to break it to you, but those "comparable to .41 Magnum" numbers are from 10mm Magnum. Which only was ever chambered in the Automag IV. In all seriousness, 10mm is not slouch, but it's pretty much comparable to top end .357 Magnum. If you don't believe me, goodness to the Underwood ammo page and compare.
Besides, as much as much as I like plinking with the .357 barrel, where the Deagle shines is .44 Magnum and .50AE.
All that being said, my dream gun is a double stack Desert Eagle in 10mm Magnum.

A typical commercial load for .41 Magnum will run a 240 grain right at 1250 for 833 ft lbs, pretty much the typical range for .44 Magnum.
A hot load will run a 210 grain hollow point 1560 fps for 1135 ft lbs of energy.
By comparison, a hot 10mm 200 grain hollow point is running 1250 fps for 694 ft lbs.
A hot 180 grain 10mm is running 1240 fps for 615 ft lbs of muzzle energy.
Compare to a hot loaded 180 grain .357 Magnum at 1400 fps at 783 ft lbs of energy.
I want make clear, I am NOT knocking 10mm. I gives you the ability to carry a double stack semiautomatic with the ballistic performance of .357 Magnum.
10mm just isn't in the same league as the big bore Magnums. Fanboys do the cartridge a disservice when they claim it's something it's not.

It actually is. Thought to be fair, the barrel above it is the .44 Magnum, which is the original barrel. The .50AE barrel is on the gun. It's an American built barrel with the nine slot top rail. The cartridges in frame are actually .44 Special. I was goofing around to see what they'd do in the gun. Here's a wider shot from the same range trip. The ammo, clockwise is 180 grain Hornady .44 Special, 240 grain Hornady .44 Magnum and 300 grain Speer .50AE. There are some brass Hornady .50AE cases in the Speer box.
