Germanfag reporting in. I wonder if anyone of you /k/-fags can give me some advice. I really dig the 9mm Sig Sauer P226 (like the way it shoots, the trigger, the placement of buttons and stuff, the quality) BUT it's quite expensive. Soo - any similar 9mm you would recommend? Has anyone shot one of the plastic-Sigs in comparison? Thank you kind people of planet /k/.
>>
The plastic Sigs are much worse.
>>
>>29526207

If you have your heart set on the Sig 226, save up and get it. If you compromise with something you didn't really want due to cost you will regret it.

get the P320
yes it has a polymer frame but you can literally take the firing mechanism/trigger out, throw away the frame, and get a new one if it cracks.

I also paid $615 out the door for this brand new.
came with night sights and 2 mags.
you can also get it in 4 different sizes and 4 different calibers.
If you really want to you can get barrels for a 9mm, .357 sig, .40, or .45

These are my guns.
They both shoot very nicely.
I would recommend either but the legion shoots nicer because of the x-ray 3 sights and heavy/solid guide rod. They both have great triggers but 320 vs standard (non legion) metal sig?

I don't know.
Ignore asshats like >>29526216
>>
>>29526351
Should add, the only sig I would avoid are the 938 and 238s.
There are MUCH better choices for the money.
>>
Thanks for your suggestions so far. Any opinions on X-Five vs P226 LDC? I don't get the pricing on those two. Anything I miss on the LDC being 50% cheaper? Barrel is only 4.4 instead of 5 inches but other than that I don't see any flaw regarding the LDC. What am I missing?
>>
>>29526479
I don't know enough about those models but sigs have a lot of variations in the options: Frame material, checkering, night sights, upgraded night sights, SRT triggers, match triggers, additional frame machining, solid guide rods, special coating/finishes...

You'll have to look that up and decide what is worth the uncharge and what isn't.

I said the legion is nicer shooting but it's got the SRT trigger and upgraded guide rod as well as g10 grips and better sights. I've no clue how a "base" model stacks up but I'd probably prefer the 320 if it's cheaper.

I love my P320 Carry
Have about 1200 rounds thru it since I got it at the end of February. I really considered a P226, but was looking more for a striker fired gun, because it is my first CCW. I'm saving my shekels and keeping my eyes peeled for used P226s.
I keep her loaded with Hornandy Critical Defense now, and am waiting for 2 mags in the mail. (Midway has em for 35)

CZ P09
>>
>>29526207

I have my heart set on a 226 but I'm not sure which variant. The guys at my lgs were really pushing the TACOPS, but that's a rather expensive proposition.

What are your opinions on the mk 25 or elite? Are they worth the price over a vanilla 226?
>>
>>29526382
What would you take over the p238 for a tiny pocket gun?

As I mentioned I'm no native speaker so sorry if I used the wrong word there ricer-faggot.
>>
>>29527074
This or P-07 if you prefer compact
But I'd prefer saving for the P226. Maybe you can get the P2022 ? It's the sig pro low cost version of the P226 made for french police. It's… well it's the low cost version.
>>
>>29527191
I keep selling or trading in my guns and have owned more various guns than I can recollect, those two were relevant to the thread. I swear k keeps getting dumber.

>>29527165
I personally wouldn't go smaller than a shield and having shoot my buddies a number of times, that will be the "pocket" gun I get off I get one. I also would never pocket carry though.
>>
>>29527130
I shot the Mk25 several times. Haven't had the chance to compare the various versions sadly. Might settle for the LDC-version - it's around 1300€ in Germany. Most other versions are considerably more expensive.
>>
>>29526207
Buy the gun you like, don't pay attention to the price. If you use it right, the difference in price will be worth max 4-5 range sessions in ammo. Think Total Cost of Ownership and fun from owning a good gun.

I got a 226 Legion. Never regretted it.

I guess you are right, worth saving one or two months more.

it feels so good in the hand, gonna shoot it on my next day off
>>
>>29526351

I was referring to the SP2022 really.
>>
I just want to say to all the new 226 owners, keep those rails oily... or even greasy.

Personally I like lucas red oil which O'Reilly auto parts can order in for you along with pep boys iirc. My 226 even came with a sample of lucas oil so it's sig approved apparently. Don't run those rails dry, they don't like it.
>>
I am carrying a Sig P320C right now. I am not sure of your use or availability there but a very very nice gun from Sig.

>>
>>29526207

I'd say get it. Since you can't just by whatever you want whenever you can afford it, you might as well get what you want once and be happy with it.

>>29526338

American prices are usually a lot lower than European prices.
>>
>>29527200

Police trade-in.
400 bucks.
Looked like it hadn't been shot.

I have a P230 and I love it. Its a neat bond type gun.
>>
>>29526207
Is it possible to buy police trade in sigs in germany or are you guys that cucked? I'd imagine a used german p225/p6 and p226 would go for pretty cheap if it's possible.

what kind of sig frame is that....
>>
>>29526207
I've shot and own many sigs, west german sig p225s, P228s, P226s, 220s, and the new 320. The P320 is a great gun if you don't feel like paying a grand for a regular sig. I've put a few thousand rounds through it, and haven't had any issues whatsoever.

The metal frame fags are butthurt because they can't afford both like me.

>>
>>29526207
I had a P226 for at least 4 years and mostly shot it over my other guns. I had a P320 for a little while, maybe a couple months. The P320 is the better gun, as there isn't a DA trigger to have to buy an SRT for or deal with at all. It's also a fair bit cheaper, and there is only the one style of mags to buy. So there's no chance of getting some mags that will would work in an american SIG but not in a German one.
>>
>>29526382

You don't own or carry one if you make that statement.

Why the fuck do you even think an srt affects the double action pull? Fucking strikerbabbies really don't know shit do they
>>
>>29536257
you bought a silencerco barrel and no silencer? why
>>
>>29526207
I had a 2022, was not a fan and promptly sold it.

I like the look and feel of SIG's but they are big chunky guns with an obnoxiously high bore axis.
>>
>>29526327
Silly anon, the barrel is supposed to go in your mouth
