Looking at a single-stack 9mm for summer CCW. Is the shield still the recommended choice?
I've felt and dryfired it at a lgs, people complain about trigger being terrible but I don't mind it. I couldn't find a glock 43 to compare the shield but is there any other options I should look into before buying?
Between the shield and glock 43 I'm still leaning towards the shield even though I own more glocks. The shield's capacity is higher, the base price is lower, and there's already a lot of aftermarket support for the shield (apex triggers, holsters, sights, etc.)

The glock 43 literally has all of these.

I'm 5'6 145 and can carry a double stack with just a t shirt easily

I know picking a gun to cc isn't such a daunting task but I want to get it right the first time
>>29525551
check out the walther PPS M1/M2. very accurate and reliable with any ammo i've fed through mine.
if you're looking for the absolute smallest to conceal better the G43 is the choice. A p938 is another good choice but it's SAO.

I'm gonna be honest and say I'm fatter than both of you.
>>29525571
I admit I haven't been up to date with single stacks and figured glocks being relatively new meant the aftermarket support will take some time.
>>29525687
thanks will check out the PPS and G43 before making final decisions
>>29525722
>glocks being relatively new meant the aftermarket support will take some time.
The 43 has been out for a year already, you have more than enough stuff for them.
>trijicon hd night sights
>streamlight tlr-6
>taran tactical extended baseplates
>glock carry trigger
>apex trigger
I'm in your shoes too op, but I'm leaning towards the shield because you can get a reliable 9+1 with the extended mag if you use magguts.
The PPS M1 is apparently really good out of the box with the only fatal flaw of the grip trigger lock that supposedly comes loose if you fiddle with it too much
>>29525751
you can buy replacement backstraps for the M1 that tighten it up again. also you never need to remove the strap in the first place because it takes down just like a glock.
>>29525751
There's no reason to get a PPS M1 when the M2 has a better grip and costs like $140 less.

Keep a S&W Airweight in your purse, and loose some weight. Your boyfriend won't say it so we will, YOU ARE FAT LIKE A COW.

You could do worse. Not sure what difference overall single stack is going to make unless you wear skinny bitch jeans like I do and even then I've been carrying a mid size fns 40.
>>29525647
I'm the same size as you and I carry a Shield. I also got it free so I'm a little biased. If you like Glock triggers, I'd say go for the 43, though. The Shield sure as hell isn't bad, especially for its price, and the Glock 43 was a little disappointing considering its price and the hype surrounding it.

Sig p239 is something to look at if you like DA/SA.
Are you looking for something striker fired or hammer?
I own both the G43 and the Sig P938. The trigger, factory night sights, and action are superior on the Sig IMO. I shoot straighter with the sig and like the alloy frame on it better as well. It does require care to upkeep it however. The glock is nice in that you don't have to do much to maintain it, but sacrifice some other qualities.

The triggers on Sig pistols are so choice, even right out of the box.
How do you carry that? Waist?
>>29527545
This. I own both a 938 and a 238 and the fit and finish as well as the trigger is worlds beyond a stock Glock 43. A friend also has the S&W Bodyguard as well as the G43 and he liked the 238 so well, he went and bought one the same day he tried mine. Pic semi related. My Summer/Winter EDC

Large hands, shield is much easier to hold onto.

I'm certain I'll get a p239 for my first ccw. Fucking beautiful

There are many immoral and probably degrading things I would do with her body as long as she kept that pistol strapped on.

The EGGSTREEM :^DDD Edition. I'm most likely going to change the grips to ironwood grips and cerakote the upper and lower two tone. I'm thinking FDE and Coyote Tan. The gun is still excellent as is though.
>>29531191
Oh. Forgot about the holster. It comes with a kydex holster that sucks ass. All's I have for it now is a crap Uncle Mike's. I'm going to get a custom leather one for it soon.
>>29525551
Like you brought up, I just don't like the trigger on the M&P series. It's too long and mushy. How bout the Ruger LCR? It's 9mm, and only carries one less round than the 43.
I'd take a Glock 26 over any of them for the couple extra rounds. But I can't carry, so take my advice at face value.
