I don't understand how what I said could be misunderstood. I'm talking about how non-coaxial helicopters have a stabilizer fin (tail fin) as well as a tail rotor. Presumably it's to aid stability at high speed.

Horizontal fins (or stabilizer fins) are for horizontal flight at any speed. And you have to have a tail rotor if it's not dual rotor... I don't understand what you guys don't understand.

A coaxial helicopter doesn't need a tail rotor (which serves to cancel out the torque from the main rotor), but it still needs a tail fin for stability in horizontal flight.
