So, what kind of weapons would you associate with the stone greasers of the 50's and 60's? I ain't talking about Danny Zuko or The Fonz, but actual hardcore stone-to-the-bone greasers from the mid-to-late 20th Century. We're talking gangs like the Simon City Royals and the Chicago Gaylords, not to mention individual hoodlums.

I'd imagine you'd see the stereotypical switchblade or pocket knife, as switchblades were extremely popular, cheap, and 100% legal in all fifty states during the 1950's and 1960's. In fact, the various state bans and restrictions on switchblades was to curb gang violence, fun fact.

But what other weapons would you associate with greasers? Knives are a must, obviously. I'd imagine baseball bats and improvised weapons like steel pipes and brass knuckles. As for guns, pistols would be the most common like the Colt M1911 and various .38 caliber revolvers (especially the cheap Saturday Night Specials).

Long arms? I really don't see it, except maybe for a cheap shotgun here and there.

So, tell me, what kind of era appropriate weapons would you carry? The era timeline being 1950-1979.

Some period appropriate music....

This knife is a must....

Also, in case I wasn't clear, this is a Baby Boomer/Mid-20th Century Weapons general thread.

>Baby Boomer weapons

This gun fits the bill. It's so common with Fudds and old geezers, it may be what you're looking for, anon.

If you're talking about street fights, chains, pieces of lumber and pic related are the most common melee weapons in most street/urban conflicts.

The thing about the 60's and 70's was that while guns were cheaper and easier to acquire legally, there wasn't a lot of variety or quality. Semi-autos were rare and expensive, and full autos were almost unheard of on the streets or in the civilian market, so you had a lot of Saturday Night Specials, 1911 knock-offs, hunting weapons, cheap shotguns, and typical Fudd-tier guns.

Knives were about the same. They were more practical, and you had less mall ninja bullshit, but good luck finding anything bigger than a bowie knife or maybe a cheap garden machete. Combat knives were a rare commodity, so most people carried shit like pocket knives and utility blades. Switchblades were common until the bans started happening in the early 70's.

Fair point, maybe I should have worded things better. This is a Baby Boomer weapons thread. Basically we talk about our favorite Mid-to-Late 20th Century weapons from the Baby Boomer era (1950-1979).

One of my favorite weapon manufacturers from this time was Harrington & Richardson. Not sure if they are still in business, but I still have an H&R .32 single-action revolver passed down as a family heirloom from my grandfather to my mom to me. Finding .32 H&R ammo for it is a bit of a pain though.

I imagine straight razors were still pretty common back then.

Probably surplus M1 Carbines, shotguns, springfields and enfields, huning rifles, .357/.38 SW Model 27, SW .38/44, .44Magnum/.44 Special Model 29, .357 SW Model 28, surplus M1911A1, SW Model 12, SW Model 10, SW Model 60, .45 ACP SW Model 22 (M1917 Revolver). I assume many of the wheel guns would have been snub nosed for CC

Snub nosed revolvers and G.I. surplus.

tire iron and other car related tools.
Pretty sure most of them owned cars making it easier to explain why they would have stuff like that on them.
Maybe some of dad's war trophies like brought back Luger's,P-38's,Arisaka's and other WWII guns possibly sawed down to make them easier to wield.
Then again I doubt that the average greaser would want to shoot the other guy for poking fun at his pompadour.

I think I read somewhere that it was popular to break off car radio antennas on your way to the scheduled "rumble" and use it like a whip to lay open your opponents face to the bone.
