>Some kids in Nova Scotia tried to pull a Columbine and failed

No they didn't. I live literally right next to the school (I could walk out on to my front porch and hit it with a rock) and the only people freaking out about it are soccer moms. The kids basically stole two long guns and tried to sell them to someone. They left a duffel bag of guns in the woods likely as a dead drop for their buyer to pick them up. Unfortunately for them, one of them dropped their BB gun as they were getting off the Halifax Transit bus and people saw who then called the police.

One kid was literally sitting in the cafeteria talking to people when he was arrested by an RCMP "tactical team".

At least that's what the Mountie sitting in front of my house told me...

Not good. Overall it's main selling point is that it's cheap. Nothing else particularly good about it. SKS or any cheap .22 or perhaps a VZ58 if you want to spend more.

>>
>>29514722
>I'm hoping that Trudeau gets the boot next election
Doubt it.

I'm willing to bet Trudeau will win at least one more election due to flimsy justification. People can easily convince themselves that "we kept Harper for three elections, one more term of Trudeau isn't gonna hurt that badly."

It would be a shitty reason, but I know for a fact that Trudeau won in the first place because "at least he's not Harper."
>>
I think its very likely that when Trudeau implements his gun reform (repeal of the Common Sense Act except for implementing the LGR) the RCMP will start classifying non-restricted "variants" of the AR and AK to restricted or prohibited.

>Any reason for the lack of interest?
It was restricted at one point.

Most people use shotguns to fuck around in the woods. Hunting, shooting cans, blowing up dinner plates and old TVs, etc.

A shotgun that you can't take to the woods is virtually useless.
>>
>>29516560
Most turk firearms are fucking terrible quality, but I have yet to hear anything bad about the MKA 1919 specifically.

As you should. It was recently re-classified to Non-Restricted, and Canadian gun stores everywhere are promoting the shit out of it because A) More customers are able to buy it and B) Some may regard this as a small victory for Canadian gun "rights," so what better way to celebrate than to buy something that can be seen as a historical landmark?

How much is too much for an Ontario M9 bayonet? Any recommendations for places/sites where I could buy one for cheap?
>>
>>29517180
Because fuck you that's why.

My favorite part of an AR-15 is the charging handle on top which the modern hunter lack. For slightly less you can get an ACR or XCR, but they're also not ARs.

You'd be much better off with an OKC-3S bayonet if you ever plan on using it for anything at all. If you are deadset on an M9, you might as well go for one of the Smith and Wesson knockoffs. It's an inherently bad design and it'll cost you less when it breaks.

Does anyone here have experience with the XCR? I'm thinking of getting one in 5.56 with the extended handguard, is it worth it? Cabella's (and a few local funstores) sells the Benelli M4 Super 90 if you have $2,600 + tax burning a hole in your pocket. It's not affordable but fuck me if it isn't the nicest shotgun ever.

They also sell the Benelli Supernova 3.5" Tactical with a 14" barrel for $1,100. It's non-restricted, magnum, and short.

You can get several types of short-barrelled shotguns (non-restricted) for cheap like the Grizzly Arms Remington 870 clone from Canada Ammo for $350 to $400 depending on the version.

Corwin arms sells some short-barreled Turkish stuff that seems fun and non-restricted. They will only set you back $160 or so.

>>
>>29520377
You can shoot NR on your land if its outside a city/allows discharge of firearms in your area.

You can shoot R if you get your land approved as a range by a CFO inspection (Which is free btw), which differs by province but mostly is just having a suitable backstop.
>>
>>29520377
Varies from province to province. Here in nova scotia, you need to get the Department Of Natural Resources to come out and inspect that you have a suitable piece of land for a range. After you get their thumbs up, you're good to go. Might want to check up on your provincial regs.

OK so my current situation makes me unable to own a full AR-15 so I decided to shop around for everything minus the lower receiver which I would get at a later point. Now that I've learned that 80% lowers are not considered a weapon in Canada, should that be on my list and later be drilled out or just wait to buy a stripped lower once I can?
>>
>>29522532
80% lowers are fairly expensive you can get comparable poly and 7075 lowers for less.
Unless you wanted an illegal unregistered lower, custom roll mark or serial 80%'s are an expensive novelty. Plus cost of jig, chance of fuck up, cost of anodization.

The military does, because if they get "muh hurt feelings" accusations then they get funding cuts from the government. It isn't so much the internal forces that matter, it's the external ones.

The problem is that the CFO won't let it happen
If you try to get it approved, they'll demand huge, expensive changes constantly until you give up. Not because they're necessary, just to prevent you from having your range. They're power-tripping assholes.
If I had the land, I'd make my own little range and just shoot pistols on my land. Not like cops can patrol your land to catch you

Where do GTA fags go to enjoy the sport anyway?

from what I understand, the closest proper range is like 2 hours by car, closest crown land where you can do target shooting is probably twice that.
>>
>>29526717
silverdale is about an hour away with good taffic from etobicoke. They have a cool action range nd a 200 yard range and some steel plates to shoot. they also have trap.

all in all id say 7/10 range. outdoors but id wish it would go further and the action range was a little larger.
>>
>>29526717
Hamilton and the Niagara region have many ranges. The Hamilton gun club offers trapshooting lessons, and the Silverdale gun club has classes on pistol, shotgun, and tactical rifle shooting during the summer.
>>
>>29525480
Some guy on CGN did it, in Sask I think.
I think he got approved for handguns only though (like they'll ever know if he shoots an AR).

What are Ontario laws regarding carrying a firearm in the wilderness for protection from wildlife/predators? It seems very ambiguous here.
>>
>>29512859
Trap them and keep the fur. Cmon dude.
>>
>>29528779
Don't confuse the criminal code with the Fish and Wildlife act that the MNR fuck around with.

On crown land innawoods and a cop roles by? Likely no problem. An MNR officer stops you, better chance they fuck you for poaching.

I always carry some paper targets folded up in my bag and a copy of the Fish and Wildlife act with the appropriate sections higlighted so if in the rare chance the MNR stop me I can just say I'm out target shooting and hiking.

If the MNR stop you, you have to prove you are not poaching, and doing the steps above has stopped the MNR charging me with stupid shit twice. As I said it's usually rare to run in to them at all.

You can shoot a wild animal in defense, but you can't use that as the reason for having the gun out in the eyes of the MNR.
>>
>>29528779
From the little info i dug up you just need to be in the bush and carry your PAL with you,

http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cfp-pcaf/fs-fd/wild-sauvage-eng.htm
>>
>>29528868
That's so fucking dumb. I can't stand this shit sometimes. I can literally stroll around with shotgun or rifle in my trunk, but god forbid I actually have one on me in the wilderness for a good reason.

That's a good method you have. How solid is that defence?
>>
>>29528872
That only states that it legal for licensed trappers and those working a lawful occupation in the wilderness. Then it goes on further to state restrictions on hunting off season and national parks.
>>
>>29528929
That defense has worked perfectly in the two interactions with the MNR I have ever had.

How the F and W act works is that it involves a guilty until proven innocent mentality when it comes to poaching. If you have a firearm out with you hiking and the MNR stop you, you can tell them you have it to shoot targets or whatever but that doesn't mean they will belive you.

By having targets on me, and by presenting my copy of the act with the appropriate clauses highlighted regarding target shooting, the officer not only has to acknowledge that info in any report he does, it also shows him that I have a valid defense and it wouldn't be worth his time charging me and dealing with it in court. Some MNR officers don't like taking risks on not charging potential poachers so the more comfortable you make them feel the more likely they will let you go.

Ontario is stupid and the Liberals like to use the MNR as their special way to override the Criminal Code and the Firearms act.

To the credit of the MNR, all have been very nice and if you treat them nicely and acknowledge they are just doing their job you will have a good time.
>>
>>29528779
NR guns you can take, but should bring some gear to make it look like you're planning to go, or are coming back from, target shooting. R guns you need a wilderness ATC.

My all time favorite gun is the enfield but the gun itself and ammo is too expensive

My advice for Enfieldanon is to try and get it ASAP. Only reason I say that is because the longer you wait, the more expensive shit gets. Our dollar isn't looking very good right now. You can always buy ammo on your next paycheck.
>>
>>29530589
Enfields are something of an exception in that they are already sitting in the country. There isn't a change in currency like CAD to USD or anything so the change in CAD value won't affect the prices nearly as much.

Just FYI the P762 is a Chinese close of the P226 rechambered for the 7.62x25 round. It's fun and all that, plus a modern x25 handgun, but it isn't actually a sig. Honestly I would trust my life to both, but if I was choosing one, I'd go with the 1911.
>>
>>29531311
...maybe? I'd find out the original loadings that were done in the 30s and 40s and compare them to modern ammo. If they have similar amounts of energy produced then it should be ok, barring structural failure.

I know. The 762 has its flaws, but muh x25. 17 rounds of that Privi JHP should be enough to fuck someone's day right up.

So I'm building the "core" of my gun collection, lads, before I move onto the "toys". I want to cover all the bases first. Am I missing anything from my list?
I have a hunting shotgun, semi-auto hunting rifle, SKS, TT33, and a Skorpion (fulfils the "SMG/Machine Pistol" slot), but rest of my list is open for advice:

Bullpup Rifle:
A Type 97

Better Carry Pistol:
DA P762 or Norinco 1911

AR-15:
Norc CQ

HD Shotgun:
A Mossberg 500

Camping Gun:
An M44 nugget

A Vz.58

An M305

An SVT, P/U and bayonet

A subcompact/small gun (Mak, Glock 26, etc)

A nicer full-sized double-stack pistol

Build a good quality M16A1 clone.

Type 81

Revolver:
Something in .357/.38 Special

Bolt-Action Hunting Rifle:
-Savage, Tikka, Remington, Sako, etc. A typical "durr rifle".

Semi-auto shotgun:
A K-12 Puma

Scout Rifle:
Savage 11 Scout or Steyr Scout

A decent lever-action rifle

A decent S/A cowboy revolver

A BP pistol and flintlock rifle

A 10/22

Light Machine Gun:
An MG-34

?????
Am I missing anything? Maybe a large-calibre gun?
>>
>>29536846

It would feast on my thumb.

With the Canadian Firearms Safety Course.
CFSC: Regular 10h? Course + Written and Practical Exam
CRFSC: Regular Course + 4h segment on restricted firearms + 2 Written and 2 Practical Exams (Pistols, SBR Semi autos, AR-15 Variants)

The course is piss easy, basic laws and safety. Competition of the course allows you to apply for your Firearms P.A.L(Possession and Acquisition Licence) or RPAL (PAL+Restricted conditions)

>Also, does canada have CC laws?
We do have CC, but getting the licence for one is near impossible.

No. Don't even try it unless you want a stint as Her Majesty's guest.

There are possibilities for handgun ATC (Authorization To Carry), but as an off-the-street civilian, you'll probably get denied. It's mostly for people who require guns for a career like money truck drivers.
>>
>>29537288
We do have CC, but good luck ever getting one. If you must CC, recognize the risk, and play your cards, as many do. Use a proper holster, wear an appropriate gun, and makes damn sure you have appropriate clothing. I recommend a shoulder holster for easy and thorough concealment.

I do, my buddy has a pro. it aims nicer than my g17 because 1911 grip angle but my rtf2 is infinitely faster on follow ups because rtf2, glock grip angle and the vickers combat sights. its a good target pistol but i would hands down take my glock if i had to get into a scrap and just wanna put as many holes in someone asap

dont go shadow man its an IPSC gun. me and my 3 buddies between us have owned them all and have broken it down this way. a glock 17 in rtf2 is hands down the fastest in terms of aim shoot and follow up shot.
m&p is a more comfortable angled pistol but is slower on follow ups and the frame grip is only ok at best.
p320 is a great gun but super high bore access and the frame is absolute shit in terms of grip texture.
stay away from vp9 cuz of questionable quality and stupid euro mag release unless you dont like faster reloads with thumb actuated mag AND slide release.
fuck the p99 because of its dumbass loaded chamber indicator in bright orange. It draws the focus of your eyes away from the front sight to the back which is BAD unless you are a complete pleb and dont shoot/aim with both eyes open
