It's ridiculous I know, crossbows are shit though so Its never really bothered me. No state has regulation on compound bows though so work that out.....
>>
>>29509379
They are regualted even *more* than firearms here in Poland.

Listed as "especially dangerous", near impossible to get unless you give a very good reason (I know a guy who got a permit for a few of them for educational purposes since he was a pretty important member of a big reenacting group) but even then the cop reading your request might just say "no" and you can't do shit about it.

Bows are not regulated at all though, so it's not only stupid but also nonsensical. Shame I have a boner for xbows andlittle to no interest in bows.

let's redefine a mass murder as 2 or more victims, so any shooting in multiples of 2 can be classified as a "mass murder spree".

- M44 Nugget with 100rnds ammo for $80 also delivered

- Original Colt 1911 45ACPs being sold in handgun clubs for around AU $300 after the IPSC circuit started switching en mass to CZ 75 clones.

Have the stricter gun laws in AUS been linked to a reduction in crime/deaths?

I remember reading that there was an initial surge of violent crime when the law was first passed, followed by a sizeable reduction.

Also, is gun ownership way down in AUS? Or is it just that almost no one has semi-autos?

considering this was australia i'm betting all they had to say was something to the effect of "the evil americans have guns!" and thousands of you couldn't get to the buy back fast enough
>>
>>29516292
Yes and no. So like, there wasn't registration in some states at the time, and the ones that were you didn't have to prove you 'sold it to a mate' so there were heaps buried. At the time, there was a shortage of PVC end caps and the local LGS was selling PVC piping as 'map holders' and sold out every day. In my state in 2013 there was an amnesty were if you had an unregistered gun you could hand it in to the police or a gun shop and no harm done. I was working at the biggest gunshop in QLD at the time and on the last day there was 180 people in the shop. During that time I saw flamethrowers, a bazooka, HK93's, some AR15's, SKS, SKK's, mp44, and just heaps of other shit(all working order). Something to remember is we didn't really have import restrictions before.
Amart Sports used to import some SKS clone(type 63??) with full auto(that was illegal) and customs only caught on because one shipment the timber stocks were all burnt.

>>29516335
Money. So you could buy an SKK for $200-300 and you would tell them it was an SKS and get $1000 for it. Most guys were buying an SKK + a few thousand rounds of ammo and burn the barrel out and then still make $500.
I know a guy who handed in 44 rifles, all cool shit like mp5's, HK93's, Sigs, etc etc and bought a house for cash. He was working for the Federal Police so if he didn't hand them in, it would be his workmates fucking him so yea. Regrets it to this day still.
>>
when is the US going to start a war to free the fuck out of the rest of the world? i want my fucking full auto RPG dammit.
>>
>>29516476

This thread got me curious so i looked up to see if any areas in the US had done a buyback program in the past. This sounds similar to what people were doing during the 1974 gun buyback in Baltimore:

"For two months in 1974, the Baltimore Police Department ran what is believed to have been the first gun buyback program in the U.S. Police commissioner Donald Pomerleau, not known as an advocate for strict gun control, reportedly came up with the idea while at a funeral for an officer who was shot in the line of duty. Operation PASS (People Against Senseless Shootings) paid a $50 "bounty" for surrendered guns and $100 for tips leading to the confiscation of illegal guns. Some bounty seekers attempted to game the system by buying cheap, new guns that retailed for $21.95 and then trying to turn them in. In all, the police collected 13,500 of firearms - mostly handguns - at a cost of over $660,000. However, the city's already high gun homicide and assault rates actually increased during the program, for which police officials offered no explanation."

Fucking baltimore haha.

>>
>>29516542
Ha, solid.
When we say buyback it was definitely confiscation. Like if you got caught with the firearms that you were supposed to hand in you go to jail and get raped. People did set up near the area and bought some stuff and legit saved some history which was good. I know my local LGS would accept people handing guns into him and he would go to the buyback areas for a 10% commission and if it was something awesome he would just buy it off of them.
But yea, most people just did hand in everything(even guns that weren't semi) because the government was set of destroying gun culture, so I don't think it could really be compared to any voluntary buyback the US has done desu. If you want to rage, look up the pics from the 96 buyback, so much history and important firearms were lost.

Yeah that is completely than any of the buybacks that have been conducted here in the states.

What a shame. And on the backs of the taxpayers of course.

Apparently some rich marijuana distributor (legal) did a buyback program in Los Angeles a few years ago and just offered $200 "no questions asked" for any and all guns. Which of course caused people to worry that it would incentivize gun theft.

>No tinted visors? Seriously?
...i dont see whats wrong with this. the logic behind this being because of cloud, weather or tunnels it can get dark at any time. dark + tint = low visibility. low visibility = not good. if you want tint, get shades. shades can be taken on or off, a visor with tint dosent really switch to the clear ones mid ride that uh, well.
secondly, its crazy as fuck how little experience you need to ride alone NSW atleast. fucking, 2 6 hour days, and only riding the bike with power for half of the last day. you could pass a drivers license having ridden a motorcycle no longer then 1 and a half hours, and suddenly become legal to ride up to almost anything but those ninjas.

Ownership is significantly higher and there's more legal guns now than ever before, plus the 80% of pre 96 guns that were never handed in. Rates of firearm crime in Aus have been on the decline since the 60s(just like the US), gun grabbers just like to attribute that to the 96 changes, the main cause of gun crime here are the bikie gangs who use never registered guns anyway.
>>
>>29516350
20% of guns that changed license category were handed in during the buyback.

There 1 or 2 states where you can buy them with no regulation but they're registered like guns in most states.

Essentially.

Reminds me of something funny a few years back, dunno if this made the papers or not. So in QLD at least to destroy a 'weapon'(vests count as weapons) you need to cut it in three critical places(so a bolt is three times through the receiver). So there was a dealer/pistol range who had vests and vests actually have an expiry date, I'm guessing for insurance reasons maybe? Anyway he had expired vests and needed to get rid of them, so he cut them at the seams/stitching down the side and over the top which means they are legally destroyed and put them in the dumpster behind the shop. They were gone the next day, he later got done for some bikie shit.
Was very interesting times in the trade.
>>
>>29522370
>he later got done for some bikie shit.

clarify what this means?

he got shot by bikers?

he got arrested for being a criminal?

he got shot by someone?

he traded a dag for some vests?

We need to draw up infographics or something and get people away from voting for the Greens because they truly are the worst people in Australia and they are the donkey vote of people who don't know any better. "Oh I don't know much about politics I just vote greens for the environment/gay rights".

I always vote independent and then mailbomb them with letters about what I want to see.

The problem is most young people have never had to pay taxes so the idea of a party being frugal with your tax dollars doesn't enter into their minds, let alone understanding the right conditions needed to foster business.

In the end, the best way to stop a greens vote is to know the person you're trying to convince. Suggesting LDP is a good idea, particularly if you argue for consistent application of civil liberties.

I know there are a small minority of greens voters who are pro-gun because they believe every tool is needed to fight the feral animal scourge. They're not very common.

Just wait for the poor oppressed muslims the greens preach tolerance of to suicide bomb a gay rally or something.
>>
>>29522384
>Mostly because of muh gay marriage or muh drugs

And somehow they have the cheek so legitimately believe those causes are critically important and morally ok when compared to us dirty LAFO's.
>>
>>29522408
Kek, I love how Greens want feral animals to disappear, but without culling or poisoning.
>>
>>29522417
Well, those are very important issues.
The LDP is the only party that supports these issues and openly supports LAFOs.

This.

Az has the best gun laws in the land and the best weather as well. Not to many niggers, but get used to spics.

I'm not sure but if you come over on a work visa you can buy guns after you get a hunting license (which is easy as fuck in America as you might imagine).

Once you get your green card (not even citizenship) you can buy guns just like any other amerifat.

Vermont has laws just as good for everything except suppressors, plus it's like 99.7% white.
It's also actually green - which is neat for everyone living outside of North Queensland.

Commie shithole.

For a while there was direct transfers between ADF and US military.
If you had served for a certain period of time and had the support of your CO you could transfer over and get a green card.

Or Alaska if you like snow.

what's the adler like?
>>

To add: at least in california, and certainly in other states, a non-immigrant (visa, no greencard) with a hunting license isn't limited to buying traditional hunting weapons.

You can buy glocks, 1911s, whatever.

In the scale of running a country those issues are without doubt about as important as Australian shooters wanting fairer laws
>>

>$13 state forest hunting permit
>motorcycle parking on footpaths
only two good things about being in victoria

Greens that actually give a fuck about the environment and aren't just preaching the climate change memes like a feral leftist Brother Dean?

Such mythical creatures exist?

>2nd whitest state in the union

Nice.

But that state was dumb enough to elect bernie sanders, and that area of the country sounds like dunbshits when they talk.

They sound like canadians but slightly more redneck.

Vermont is a good state full of good people though for sure.

>I want my own gun, you guys are so lucky.
>you guys are so lucky.
Our ancestors sought a better life for us, it isn't about luck.
It's due to a continued tradition of respecting and appreciating the lives that were laid down so that we didn't have to be commie faggot serfs, and a willingness to do the same.

Vermont loves their guns.
They vote democrat but no democrat will ever risk putting restrictions through.
