No. Pistols are third or fourth guns.

>>29504266
I'm not a Glock type of guy, but a Glock-19 will serve you well for a defense gun.

I wouldn't recommend a pistol for home defense, at all, for many reasons which I'm sure many people here will tell. But the Glock should be good for carry. I'd carry one.

Glock 17 or 19 depending on the purpose

Yea, go ahead and keep recommending a gun notorious for NDs to someone with no firearms experience.
And I guess if they make a mistake handling it, they should just go fuck themselves, right?

Yes.

The gun has 3 internal safeties that specifically prevent this. The only way to make it fire is to pull the trigger.

wow. very surprising.

Both cases happened because they used leather holsters and the leather got soft. Get a kydex holster and you will never have this problem.

Revolver. Simple, reliable, easy to learn how to use. Even a cheap Armscor won't go wrong.

The point is that they followed what you said
>>Keep your fat fucking booger hook off the trigger and you will never have a problem you autist.
and still ND'd, which you said couldn't happen

>Both cases happened because they used leather holsters and the leather got soft. Get a kydex holster and you will never have this problem.
Uh, no.
The second one had nothing to do with a leather holster.
>>
>>29506115
>and still ND'd, which you said couldn't happen
It could have happened to a pistol with a safety turned off too. It's literally interfering gear that is to blame.

>The second one had nothing to do with a leather holster.
Uhh, yes.

The soft leather allowed the plastic and nylon strap from the jacket to be in the holster at the same time as the gun. Kydex would have prevented this.

Also he didn't clear the holster before inserting the gun, something you should do regardless of the firearm or holster you are using.
>>
>>29506154

>It could have happened to a pistol with a safety turned off too. It's literally interfering gear that is to blame.
But not one with the safety on.
Interesting, huh?

>Uhh, yes.

>>

>But not one with the safety on.
It's still a piece of shit holster that should be thrown away and replaced regardless of weather or not you have a safety. All it takes is one slip up and holstering your gun without turning the safety on to achieve the same result.

>No try again.

You keep shifting away from your original point that all you need to do is keep your finger off the trigger.
Now you're admitting that there are many more safety issues that need to be addressed.

>Try using your big boy words and string the together to form an argument.
That's on you.
You're claiming it was the holster's fault.
Prove it.
>>

>Now you're admitting that there are many more safety issues that need to be addressed.
Millions of people use glocks daily and lots of new people manage to not shoot themselves with them. Weird, huh? It's almost like the situation your referring to is statistically irrelevant, or something.

Use a kydex holster and learn to holster properly and it's a non-issue. Dangerous things are dangerous big fucking surprise there, treat them with respect.

"glock accidental discharge": 37,000 result
"glock negligent discharge": 30.700 results

>It's almost like the situation your referring to is statistically irrelevant, or something.

Woah, so the amount of pages google search results are a indicator of unsafe firearm design now? Let's see right hurr what I dig up.

About 183,000 results

About 22,200 results

ND can happen with any firearm, fucking period. Learn to handle a gun. Holstering and unholstering are just as important to practice as shoot the gun itself.
>>
>>29504266
Something like an FNS9 or ruger 9e.

Definitely not a glock though many will say that. It's relatively more expensive than other options like (or better than) it, and it doesn't have a safety so holstering and picking it up off a surface become an issue. You also don't want to spend much, see if you're going to get into shooting first. A $1,000 Sig is probably going to make you kick yourself when you realize it just sits in your safe (I would also recommend getting a small handgun safe and affixing it to something)

If you want a carry gun the ruger lc9s or s&w shield (I'm too lazy to give more than 2 recommendations)
>>
>>29506452

>search sig and hk negligent discharge
>half the results are glock related
kek

>ND can happen with any firearm, fucking period.
Way to pretend I said otherwise, so you can claim this position as your own.
Really clever, I'm sure you've fooled us all.

>Learn to handle a gun.
Maybe OP should do that with a gun that's easier to learn with?

>Holstering and unholstering are just as important to practice as shoot the gun itself.
>>Keep your fat fucking booger hook off the trigger and you will never have a problem you autist.

>half the results are glock related
>half
Are we using the same search engine? Most sig results I see pertain to sigs.

>Really clever, I'm sure you've fooled us all.
The point you made is that glocks are accident prone. They are only accident prone to absent minded people but that's true of any firearm, clear the holster (like you should do every time with ANY firearm) and you will not have a issue like the two specific cases you provided.

Instructors specifically train people to clear a holster before holstering with any firearm, it comes with the territory. Just like keeping your finger off the trigger comes with regular gun handling.

>Maybe OP should do that with a gun that's easier to learn with?
Literally cannot get any easier. If there is a reason OP should not get a glock it's because of there shooting characteristics. A large revolver or .22lr revolver would be better so he does not develop a flinch due to shooting a lightweight handgun.
