No cure, but there is help. From what I've researched online, it seems that you can help relieve it by taking a hot bath (or getting in a hot tub) and sinking your ears below the water, just letting them soak.

The thought process is that it helps to relax and somewhat rebind the microscopic hairs in you ears that have been frayed by the loud noises.

I haven't tried this myself, but I have noticed it get less intense with time.
>>
>>29493218
embrace it.

in the east they laugh at our concept of tinnitus, they just say that it's God you are hearing.
Be super serious with earpro, like really serious, for a few years and do Vipassana meditation (there should be a place close by) (dhamma.org) and just don't think too much about it.
Now a days I only hear it when it's dead quite, like out on a frozen lake, and it hits me from time to time, but I kinda enjoy it now a days.
My father also have it, but far worse, he found his own way through meditation with mantras.
Now he's a beekeeper.

Finger drumming technique

Place the palms of your hands over your ears with fingers resting gently on the back of your head. Your middle fingers should point toward one another just above the base of your skull. Place your index fingers on top of you middle fingers and snap them (the index fingers) onto the skull making a loud, drumming noise. Repeat 40-50 times. Some people experience immediate relief with this method. Repeat several times a day for as long as necessary to reduce tinnitus

Every time you remove glass from a rifle, you need to re-zero it.

>>29495046
7.62 Nato is a colder (less powerful) loading than .308 Win. The safe solution is to buy a rile in .308, unless you don't have a choice (some milsurps, like Ishapore Enfields, are 7.62 exclusively), in which case you just need to be very careful about what you're feeding your boomstick.

I've got 10 of them. A couple, the rounds slide right out and into the magazine. The rest of them though, the rounds stick hard and absolutely refuse to leave the clip, even though when I'm NOT trying to put them in the magazine it's super loose and the slide right out.

If they're not original russians, they're going to need tweaking. Clean them, give them a scrubbing with 0000 steel wool, and then tweak the tabs until they work correctly. Use a vice and wrap the pliers with electrical tape before you use them on the clips.

Which of these should I get, probably only be able too get one now until maybe after summer, should I get one of those surplus Beretta 92S's, Polish P-64, or Star Model Super B's

Other two choices are save up a hair but and get a Makarov or little more costly after that is one of those Israel surplus Jericho's, or a Astra Constable .380, but if you suggest one of these also recommend which of the first few you would suggest.

This would be the first real pistol of my own, have one of those Raven arms and I use my dads S&W 5906 9mm when I can.
>>
>>29495523
The 92S is a nice cheap way of getting a Beretta, but they have that funky heel-button release which is weird to me. I *think* it'll accept a standard 92 mag with modification (cut a new mag release slot in it) but double check.

Having shot more than a few Maks, I can say the P-64 is an amazing little gun. The trigger is incredibly light, buyer be warned.

Star Super B's are great, if you really, really want a 9mm 1911 that holds less than the 92 you're looking at. From a practical standpoint, it's a flop, but it's an awesome gun to add to a collection.

Jericho's are kind of hit or miss these days. The Israeli trade-ins are either decent or complete dogshit condition, but you get to play Spike Spiegal, and last I checked mags aren't too hard to find.

I've owned more than a few Spanish guns, but I've never played with a Constable. However, if you can find one, and want a great all-rounder handgun, I reccomend finding a Star Firestar, or a Star Ultrastar. Both are compact CC pieces, and the Firestar just feels like a tank in the hand. It actually weighs more than the 5906 you like shooting. Which is another gun I reccomend--anything in the 39/59 family is pretty awesome, and I swear by my 59. Plus, they've been on the market for decades now, and have an absolute plethora of spares and accessories for not too terribly much (except mags, which seem to be at a premium).

Hope this helps. Hang on to that Raven.

Is scope fucked?
>>
>>29497523
Depends on how much you like it. Just know that even if you restore it, its still tapped for scope mount so most of its resale value is lost.

If you like it its worth keeping plus reloading for it isn't that hard.

As for restoring it for personal reasons it looks like its a good candidate but restoring is pretty costly and time consuming.

Dunno about your exact figures since it will vary from round to round, gun to gun. A bullets trajectory can be considered a parabola in the z-x plane and since the line of sight is a straight line it must either miss the parabola entirely, intersect at only one point (tangential) or intersect at two, There's only one range where it can be tangential so the most likely outcome is for the sight to be zeroed at two distances.
>>
>>29499553
>>29499575
so is the 25=300m apply only to 5.56? i've heard it mostly in relation to zeroing ARs.

how do you find out the reciprocal zeroing ranges then. like if you want to zero at 500m or whatever how do you know the closer zero range?

Look it up, there's ballistic calculators on the internet and even phone app store has them.
>>
>>29499620
Its for pretty much all rifles. Technically pistols as well but most of the time its not useful.
The second meter distance is mainly based on which cartridge.
Barrel type and load data play into this but in general the 25m will get you on paper at the corresponding long distance.
As >>29499638 said there are ballistic calculators online and mobile (I use Strelok on andriod for obvious STALKER reasons.)

Hey /k/ I own several handguns and have shot and CCed handguns for years but have somehow managed to never fire a rifle. Like ever. I shot skeet once with shotguns but that's it. I'm not a gun lover, handguns are a practical necessity. But I'm feeling saucy and want to into AR-15.

I'm a cross-dominant shooter, right-handed and left-eyed. When I practice I shoot right-handed, with the gun tilted slightly to the left, both eyes open, with my left eye on the sights.

My qtddot is how this is going to work with a rifle? Obviously I can't shoulder it on my right side and use my left eye. Will it be easier to train myself to shoot right-eyed or left-handed? Keep in mind I'm going to be starting from absolutely never having fired a rifle ever. Totally clean slate.

Went to my LGS earlier and they told me it was illegal for people who aren't LEO's or licensed security guards to purchase body armor. Bullshit, store policy, or truth?

Live in MD, by the by, it might be true but I can't find shit.
>>
>>29503436
I wouldn't use it on someone if I got into a fight, I'd use it if I felt my life was in danger. I know there isn't an issue with blade length, but possibly with it being concealed. I'm asking for a work-around, not sarcasm.
>>
>>29503476
I can only confirm for British Columbia, but I know that if you have your Possession and Acquisition License for a firearm, then you're able to purchase plate armour. Sometimes you can buy it out-of-province without your PAL but it's too much of a hassle if the police somehow find it. So the rules might be similar to that; not allowed to purchase in state, but allowed to possess.
>>
>>29503278
I was cross-dominant too and shot AR's, Ak's and other rifles without a problem. The biggest pain in the ass was bolt guns because after each shot, I'd have to switch hands to work the bolt.

I finally broke myself with a Marlin model 60 22lr and about 500 rounds. The funny thing is I still shoot hand guns the old way.

tl;dr: You'll have no problems, but if you're worried, get a .22 and practice.

I'm buying a cheap handgun through Gunbroker.com and I'm annoyed at the place I was going to use as an FFL.

What papers should I get from the local gunshop so that I can speed up the process? Can I just walk up and ask for a copy of their FFL and just email that to the guy I'm buying my firearm from? Can it even be emailed or does it need to be mailed in?

Is it considered rude to ask the seller for a tracking number?

What are the requirements to get an FFL so I can avoid some hassle in the future? Do I need to actually sell firearms to get one?

I just bought my first gun on Gunbroker, and it was a pain in the ass. Went to my FFL with the info, and he said he'd email it. Two days later, I get a message from where I bought the gun asking for an FFL. Called my FFL and he said he'd email it again. Heard nothing for three days, but it finally shipped today.

Your FFL will have to fax or email them a copy. The seller should update when he ships your gun, and I wouldn't think it would be rude to ask for a tracking number. These guys hate negative feedback.

I'm looking at hand primers. I want one that's not going to break. Does anybody know if the hornady hand primer is any good? I see reviews that say the lee one is shit because the handle is made out of aluminum or some other softer more pliable metal.

Would the tunnels built by the Vietcong during the Vietnam War be a viable means to wage guerrilla warfare nowadays?

How much effort, money and manpower do you need to even start building complex tunnel systems?

Are there any documentaries, diagrams or other bits of material that talk about Vietnamese tunnel systems?
>>
>>29513087
To add another question: In what areas of the planet would it be impossible to dig these type of tunnels?

Can any South Floridabros fill me in on the Trail Glades range? It might just be the only place left for me to shoot, because all the indoor ranges as well as Markham Park are fucking garbage. Also, I'd like to know if there's any other place to shoot near Hialeah Gardens. The general limit for me is a half hour drive, but I have some wiggle room for slightly longer distances.

>I assumed that assembling something from a kit would lower my price more significantly.

This is why the world is going to shit- people just don't use their fucking heads anymore.

Let's say you find a parts kit for $500. Great. Don't forget tax and shipping.
You're going to need a receiver. That's $250-350. Don't forget tax, shipping, and the FFL transfer.
Then you're going to need odd parts here and there, either from the kit being incomplete or including shit thats worn or broken. Let's just say $50. Don't forget tax and shipping.

Now we're at $1000 for a pile of shit you don't know what to do with.

I can't pretend you know how to build a rifle, otherwise you wouldn't be asking such a vague "tell me what to like" question with a budget of less than half of what you need.

The easiest thing you could do is take your $1000 shitbox to a gun smith who isn't lying when they say they know how to assemble the particular platform you chose. That's going to be around $500 all said and done, if the smith knows what they're doing.

Now we're at $1500 for your "hurr i saved my birthday money now i'm gonna get cheep rifle lol" fap session.

When people build guns themselves, typically they mean they're building it themselves. You can't use your budk rainbow knife and lego separator. You don't strike me as a man, so you're going to need to drop $200 on basic hand tools. $150 minimum for a vice. Don't forget the tax, and possibly shipping.

Then you're going to need specialized shit, headspace gauges, wrenches, riveting jigs and a press, drill press, all depending on the rifle. Anywhere from $600 to $1500 just for the fucking tools you need to even think about putting a rifle together, before you can even worry about doing it right.

So in addition to getting a non high school job and moving out, try getting some sense slapped into you before you start talking shit about doing something "because it sounds fun"

How useful would a small flamethrower that reliable puts globs of burning goop on things 50 feet away be? I mean in the modern world.

What if it had at least 200 uses before being out?

I am counting enough buring goop to stop a man sized target as a "use."

Also, how effective would just a small, solo cup amount of flaming goop be against a human target, if it all contacted them?

What if they were wearing modern body armor?

Liberty Tree Collectors have a bunch of stock parts if you want to go that route.

I have a Remington 572 Pump .22, that I plan to take out Squirrel hunting, however, the scope on it is atrocious, it feels like I'm looking through a pinhole. Can someone suggest a scope under the $250 mark with an open Field of view? Would an ACOG work? I know fuckall about optics

50 feet away, i have to imagine it is not very useful . most battles take place a good long distance away compared to 50 feet

Well I am trying to be conservative, I have heard that flamethrowers could be used as a means of defeating the armor of a heavily armored foe.

1.
>is that true?

2.
>how engulfed would a (modern armored) foe have to be for the hit to be considered effective? Would 1 cup of flaming napalm splashed center mass work? Would even less work?

3.
>what would the minimum distance be for it to be useful (taking other fields of battle besides open areas into account, like forests or cities)?

I have to admit this is for a campaign I am working on with help for /tg/, but also I ask for my own personal interest. Flamethrowers are just "cool."

What is the best, cheapest 556 bolt rifle to practice out to 400 target shooting.

Not quite beginner level, but very close.

Mossberg map? Already have an AR?

So, I like optics, so I want to put an optic on my optic. I bought a primary arms 5x prism scope and it has a little rail section on top with 4 spaces and I want to put like a mini red dot or something but I don't know if that's advisable. If it is I don't know which one to get.

Is there any difference between 5.45 and 5.56 in terms of performance?

I've put maybe 120 - 150 rounds through my 12 gauge shotgun, and I'm noticing that there's a spot about half way down the barrel, that extends about 1/3rd of the barrel in the middle, where it's all scuffed and scratched and not mirror-like anymore at all.

What is that? Is that normal? It doesn't seem to be pitting, it just looks like some especially tough shot fucked it up or something, but I'm not sure.

Probably just leading. If you shot slugs it gets really bad looking.
Ez mode clean shoot some steel shot or attach a brush to a power drill.

I've read that Steel cased ammo is a big no-no for FAL's. I was hoping someone here could clarify why shooting steelcased ammo out of an FAL is so frowned upon?
>>
>>29520755
I'm using ballistol to clean it, if it is leading, is that good enough you think? Does leading basically only get removed with elbow grease?
>>
>>29521089
Leading on shotgun barrels can be a real bitch to get off I've used stronger solvents with little effect.
But like I've said steel shot knocks it out really well.
>>
>>29521349
Emphasis on steel SHOT, not slugs.

You don't want to kb.

>>29521495
Does anyone even make steel slugs, I have a few cheap shotgun barrels that need... a glorious decommissioning.
