Alright guys I watched this while cleaning my guns last night and I was thinking....
>How /K/ is "Soldier"?
>How /k/ is Soldier
>"But one soldier, against seventeen. What are you going to do?"
>"I'm going to kill them all, Sir."
Kurt Russell is always a 10/10 actor and very pro gun to boot.

Seems like its a movie that would be right up our alley. Plenty of firearms and explosions. And Kurt Russell plays a character so socially disconnected, he gets paralyzed at points.
The beginning of that movie is fucking 10/10. When he gets dropped off on trash planet is where it goes to a 5/10. I wish they would've just made the movie about all the engagements they show in the beginning, the space fighting, shooting through hostages to kill the enemy, that good stuff.
>>29491428
>old vet with tons of war experience cast aside for new shiny untested warriors
>finds a bunch of soft ass libruls
>shows them the good and bad of war
>saves some peeps with his pure masculinity
>tries to teach kid valuable lesson in self defense
>cast out by soft libruls for UGUU FIGHT IS SCARY
>lesson ends up saving the kid
>welcomed back and heralded as a great man
>singlehandedly defends sheep from total destruction
>alpha mentality wins the day, gets the girl, draws the eyes of eager to learn next generation
It's like /k/ the mobie.
>>29491479
>finds a bunch of soft ass libruls
On a trash planet no less.
>>29491428
It has the makings of /k/'s wet dreams and escapism.
It is critically by no means a good movie but fuck the critics. The pure rawness of the final hand to hand combat was worth it alone.
>>29491517
>bad soldier gets fucked up with an ancient military helicopter's rotorblade
Fucking bonerrrrrrrrr
>>29491517
>implying the rope fight in the beginning wasn't better
>>29491568
I am not it isn't more raw or violently satisfactory
but the premise of the last fight was what made it all the more fulfilling
the rope fight made you get a sense of "holy shit this guys are biological killing machines"
the last fight made you feel like standing up and flipping the bird on the one-eyed guy that had been busting your balls the entire time
especially when his neck snapped

>"I'm going to kill them all, Sir."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmNjKiANxtI
Fun fact: Kurt Russell has like one line in the movie, but he is the main character.
>>29491428
boner inducing/10 except for the parts that arent
>>29491636
he has more than one line, but the total dialog he has wouldn't fill a sheet. another fun fact, the guys that wrote the movie said they see it as happening in the same universe as Blade Runner. In the beginning there is a computer crawl listing all of Sgt Todds battles, Tannhäuser Gate is listed.
>>29491692
That and there's one of the cop hover cars in the background of a shot
>>29491692
Yeah. They even mention it later as a battle. And the replacement soldiers are supposedly replicants.
Also:
>micro minigun
>battle rifle with spring-loaded bayonets
>rocket launcher
>SBR with drum mag.
>MAC 10 variant
>flamethrower
It's like they made it just for us.
>>29491779
the whole opening would leave most kommandos excusing themselves to go use the bathroom

Check his awards.
This, Equilibrium, and IP Man. Except in IP Man the one cop only had that shitty revolver and not even in 10mm.
>>29492000
never noticed that
>Neat.png
Hollywood gets guns wrong all the time, it's part of their charm.
Also this scene:
>PTSD demons ripping his soul apart
>can't stand it anymore goes to work out
>literally punches huge dent into gas tank and keeps beating it until so exhausted he can't see
>keeps punching
> knuckles are bleeding
>keeps punching
>wraps torn
>keeps punching
It was a really good scene until Micheal Chiklis

Forgot pic.
>>29492000
cash medal= tango and cash
plisskien patch=duh!
o'neil ring= ?
maccready cross=?
>>29492000
>plissken patch
wonder if its connected.
>>29492208
Think MacCready cross is a reference to The Thing, don't know anything about the O'Neil ring.
>>29492208
O'Neil = Stargate.
Also, Nibian Moons and Antares Maelstrom = Wrath of Khan in-jokes.
>>29492241
shoulder of orion is also listed as a battle. Blade Runner ref
>>29492264
I figured everyone knew that one, it's pretty obvious.
Also, any online vids of just the final battle scenes? Dat minigun.
>>29491800
>battle trained Kurt Russell
redundant
>>29492278
age, experience, and treachery will always over come youth
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XsFLyloTDOU
>>29492322
Not that part, the part where he comes out of the water with the minigun and fucks up all the new soldiers.
>>29492000
I remember sperging out when my brother and I saw it in theaters. Looked at me like was nuts... pleb didn't appreciate pure kino
>yfw this could've been a warhammer 40k movie
>>29492236
Iirc he played colonel jack oniell in the Stargate movie
>>29492000
>uscm smartgun

>>29492425
it is in my head
>heretical inquisitor takes over guard regiment with troop of newly indoctrinated Cadians
>veteran sergeant gets drumrolled out because heretics
>dumped on waste world with pilgrims
>heretics gonna heresy
>vet sarge brings the light of the emperor and purges heresy
i wish i could execute the fallouts after a run
>>29493623
the run wasn't even over and they capped the fat kid.
>>29493703
He had already fallen out.
anyone can find the short trailer where you hear the female voice
>A soldier does not speak until spoken to by a superior officer.
>A soldier shows no mercy.
>Mercy is weakness.
>Weakness is death.
>>29493840
Imagine a fetish recording with that voice?
>mercy is weakness
>weakness is death
>you've been bad haven't you?
>not giving all you have during PT
>you're a bad soldier
>I'll bet your rifle is filthy
>and you still shoot that filthy rifle don't you
>you want to go shoot right now....
Sorry I just.... I'm....different.
>>29491428
It's pretty /k/.
Unfortunately it's also pure trash as a movie.
>>29492322
I love how the new soldier is hopped up on all kinds of stims in this scene and still ends up getting fucked up.
>>29491475
10/10 beginning
5/10 middle
8/10 ending.
>>29491692
All those connections...
>>29492236
He played the pilot in the thing(john carpenter ), his name was macready.
>Children trained from birth to wage war and genetic screening for weakness.
This is why fascism is so cool.
