Well, considering our last couple wars, the Marines' ROE will limit them to shooting back only when half are dead, using their off hands, while on a po-go stick, underwater. Civys win.

Civilians bury mosins in their cellars and "welcome" Marines with open arms, Marines let guard down somewhat, individual civilians proceed to take potshots at Marines when they are on patrol, Marines deployment ends 6 months later with 15+ causalities and horrible morale, civilians repeat but go softer with each new unit, "mission accomplished", US pulls out a decade later.
