Is there an army that accepts international mercs with a record of sociopathy? I would be a merc but I wouldn't want to lose my repatriation rights, so I'd prefer to fight for a cause. Also wouldn't want to fight for people who kill civilians. Without a good cause. Pic unrelated but cute.

Good cause I considered like when the czechoslovak army made some germans dig their graves at the end of WW2 after a mob of them shot a lot of them in the back when they were ordered to leave at the start of the war. But barring "They shot first" or "they killed civils first" or they materially support armies that kill civils, there really aren't many.

Former Legionnaire here.
I can clear up a few things for OP.
1. They don't take psychos, they haven't done so in over thirty years. They want men who will actually make competent soldiers. They don't want loose-cannon nutcases.
2. They are not "the expendables" sent into a warzone unsupported, to fight and die completing impossible missions for their uncaring French officers.
3. In the extremely unlikely event you join the Legion, you will spend at least 50% of your contract sweeping things.
4. There is very little shooting in the Legion. When we weren't training for a deployment, we only had range practice once per month. The rest is running and sweeping.
5. There is very little thinking done in the Legion. The entire command structure is predicated on the idea that every man below you on the chain of command is incapable of making decisions. That means, if you are not at least a sergeant, you will never, ever be allowed to do anything without supervision.
6. The Legion is a fully-integrated part of the French army. They do not go on ops separately and you are expected to adhere to all of the rules and conventions of the French army. You do not get a break because you're a Legionnaire. Actually, it's worse, because all the French soldiers think you're a moron.
