As a male soldier who wasn't so hot at rucks when I first got in, I understand how hard they can be. That said, it has literally never occurred to me to use a rifle as a walking stick; you need to at least attempt to have proper patrol form. That just like...beyond the pale.

Basic training ruck weight minimum for females is 25lbs (45lbs for males). EMB minimum weight for both is 35lbs. A 12 mile untimed ruck is pretty routine among combat arms and still somewhat common among combat support units.
An educated guess judging by how it was flopping is that was right at 35lbs, which it should be if her entire chain of command wasnt outright trying to screw her over.

The post I was referencing was referencing OPs post about American military standards for women.
The person I was responding to said we need something like Vietnam or Korea NOT something like Afghanistan or WW1 to shake up the military and show them how women would not fair well in "real" combat.
I then went on to show that the USA who had a relatively small clbat contribution to WW1 STILL racked up almost as many dead in a year as 18 in Vietnam. I was trying to show that another WW1 would do more to show whatever needs to be shown about current military doctrine than a other Vietnam.

So here's probably as good a place as any to ask this:
If people want equality for women being able to take on Combat Arms roles so badly, why don't they simply make male and female units? A lot of the concerns and objections that have been raised could be resolved fairly easily:
>Reduced worrying about the sex nonsense that rises up outside of war time.
>Less worry about the white knight issues of the woman getting wounded and being treated differently than a male would be in the same situation.
>Debate about females not being able to carry big, 6'3" 250lb males would basically fly out the window as well in all but the few cases of Amazon-type women.
So other than the PC bullshit that would keep something like that from happening, is there a legitimate reason why male and female combat arms MOS'es shouldn't be split by gender? From what I have read about other countries, many of the one's that do have women in combat roles generally put them in female platoons for most of the above listed reasons, so why the fuck doesn't the USA follow suit?

90% of what the military does is logistics which means that there are numerous ways that women can serve their country and if that's why they want to join the military then great, we can use them.

That is, if women were expected to only physically be able to do say, 80% of what a man could do, that's what they would be tested on, but since they wouldn't be part of the same unit, so whatever the male standard is wouldn't need to be made to "better accommodate" women or whatever?
I'm not sure how the issue of them needing access to the same equipment would be handled, as they would still need to carry all the same shit any male soldier would need to, but if the issue is worrying about standards being lowered for women, it seems like separation would be a good way to go about that, right?

I'm not really aware of how the Israeli Army works, but I had seen videos of Kurdish women (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_0kg8VlxkE) that seemed to be pretty on point. More to the point, I was also including Combat Arms rather than just infantry mainly because I had other positions in mind, like Sniper, since women have been notorious in excelling at that in the past, e.g. Lyudmila Pavlichenko and Roza Shanina.

80 to 100 pounds of gear is the lightest load you will ever possibly carry.
PPE and water end up weighing about that much. When you are actually under a real patrol load you can have up to 180 pounds of gear strapped to your body and stuffed in your pack.
A 3 hour hike in 70 to 80 pounds of gear is literally a warm up. During a real hike you can expect both a full load, and to be hiking for 12 to 15 hours. Hell, one time we moved 30 miles in 15 hours under full load and it was considered a slow pace. I don't think I have met a female who can even survive that before.
I think females raised in this "equality first" politically correct environment get an inflated idea of thier capabilities because its fucking taboo to tell them they arent capable of something now days. And when the standards are lowered and they STILL suck they just get told "oh well, atleast you tried!"

Both the Kurdish and Israeli female units are 100% propaganda that are never used in combat.
The ONE time the Israelis used them they nearly got wiped out due to their own incompetence, had to be rescued by a smaller all male force, which they fired upon on accident, and which were ordered to evac the women at the cost of their own lives.
They got a significant number of otherwise uninvolved men killed because they fucked up in basically every way they could, and failed what was an otherwise slam dunk gimmie op.

My unit evaluated one of the experimental all female units.
Keep in mind that they were all cherry picked to do well for the test:
We found they were capable of performing the actions required, but could not do so in the time normally allotted to an all male unit, while our all male unit could perform them in well under the alloted time in most cases.
The mixed male and female unit could perform some tasks in the alotted time, but cut it very close.
In short, the results from the study showed an all male unit is more efficient and does thier job better. The secretary of defense literally said he didnt care about the test results when presented with them. Because who cares about things like evidence when supporting an ideology?

The problem is that the military in general but the marines especially don't recruit those women. Like at all. Basically only shitbag women who know they can half ass their way through a military career by cruising on their cunt sign up. Almost exclusively when I hear about a female soldier that isn't shit (and is American) it's someone who comes from a military family and signed up to follow in those footsteps. The only way a non-shitbag woman signs up for the military is if she was literally born and raised into it.
I can't fault them for it either, the military treats you like shit and it's only getting worse, their female "peers" are garbage and will shit on them if they make them look bad by actually putting in effort, yet they're associated with those garbage peers so they'll never be trusted to be competent enough to move past the glass ceiling, and considering the current political climate they're worth their weight in gold elsewhere.
