How much of a difference does a good belt and holster make in terms of concealing a gun? I'm fairly skinny and live in hot weather but I really want a Sig P239 as my first cc gun.
Is there any way to see if I can get away with concealing one before buying one?
Just go to the gun store and ask if you can put their wares down your pants. They will totally understand. Gunbro code.

Can you actually do this?

less of a difference in how concealed it is.
more of a difference in how comfortable you will be.
absolutely necessary.

I'm most likely going to get something high quality like raven concealment and a belt from beltman.com I really want to know if I can get away with comfortably concealing a p239 and maybe one more mag. If not, I'll look elsewhere for something like a shield or glock 43.

a good belt and holster make a huge difference in comfort and stability
the concealment part if it prints or not depends on your clothing
>>29472232
shield and glock 43 are pocket size.
P239 is not.
however with an iwb holster it would certainly hide very easily.
I never understood the usage of a "gun" belt, I use a flimsy leather I've had for six years. While I do agree a solid holster is great, I never understood how a belt could make a difference. How will it make CC more comfortable?

a good belt will keep your gun and holster right where you want it
a shit belt will have everything flop and move around

I know about the size differences but I'm willing to make a sacrifice if I can get away with carrying the p239. I do plan on appendix carry so it may be even more easier.

You've convinced me. Not because my shit flops around but because I need a new belt and want to be /k/ tier. Recommend me a good belt, cowboy. A nice brown one.

Appendix makes life so easy. The p239 will disappear in appendix carry.I've carried a 228 and 250 there with no issues aside from the fact that I don't like 250s

Can I do it as a skeleton with a t shirt?

I received my holsters before my belt. So I tried them on a regular department store leather belt.
It worked alright, I had to tighten the sucker, and even then, the holster would sag down a bit every now and again when moving about. Sitting down and getting up meant I HAD to pull my belt up everytime.
Keep in mind this is a single clip holster, so a lot more weight is focused in one point of the belt, don't know how your hybrid style iwb's would work since they distribute weight across two clips.
After getting my gun belt from beltman, I didn't have to over tighten it to keep the holster from sagging down. Sitting down and getting up also didn't mean having to pull the belt up everytime. The weight feels a bit more spread out vs. on the thin belt where the weight was more towards the holster/gun.
In short, The holster is personal preference, full kydex shell might be uncomfortable for some. It might be too bulky. Some people might like soft holster or leather instead.
But the belt. Unless you don't mind dealing with having to do a small song and dance with your belt every now and then vs. rarely ever needing to touch it. I'd say getting a good belt is key.
buy an airsoft copy of the real thing practice concealing it

not familiar with airsoft, but would it replicate the weight as well?
>>29475331
Some airsoft weapons have the same or similar weight as the real deal.
ankle holster
works for me and i am a skinny fag

Quality airsoft copies do

A huge difference. I'm fairly skinny and I carry a P239 every day. Get yourself a nice quality carry belt and a Comp-Tac Minotaur.

I have every time i bought a pistol. Even a ar pistol once
How does the P239 carry compared to a Glock 19?

Until your button scratches the finish
Fuck spending $200 on a belt. Go to hank's clothing and look up gun belts. I paid $45 for a kydex reinforced belt that I've had for 3 years and wear every day.

I much prefer to carry the P239 to my 19.

Considering you want have a gut shoving it outward and chaffing the shit out of you, you should be OK. But that will depend on how you dress and your posture
Belt and holster make more of a difference than the the gun itself. A good belt and holster took me from struggling to conceal a Shield to being able to conceal a full-size 1911 or M&P with ease and comfort. It really is a huge difference.
The P239 is a good CC pistol, but get good equipment to carry it. It's not light and good gear is a necessity.
