One more note on enlisting in a different nation's army;
Belgium could quite easily switch their standard issue rifle whenever they choose to do it, its only a matter of costs really and they are itching for those SCAR and boat gun platforms since the FNC has gotten so old by now.
And Sweden is quite desperately trying to replace their AK5C as well, the switch would most likely happen around 2020. So unless you live in a nordic country where you get fast track citizenship, chances are it will no longer be in primary service by the time you can apply to join it.
So its a really risky plan (and also stupid) since you have to devote several years in miserable countries and by the time you can enlist it will most likely be gone. Being designed in the mid 70's its a really old firearm by now and I am surprised its still even in use in Belgium without the heavy modernization that the rest of the service rifles around world has gone through.
