Hey /k/, so the front sight on my newest Type 56 is bent slightly, any recommendations on fixing it? Also general SKS thread
Have you tried hitting it with a hammer?
Either bend it or replace it for maybe a dollar
Are you this broken of a person that you needed help figuring this out
I'm thinking about getting one. Do you have to take the bayonet off to go to the range?

Fuck sights! It's now a spear that has "ranged" capabilities
>>29447941
Either bend it back or buy a new one, they're super cheap.

Depends on range. I've never been to one that required it but I'm sure there are some out there that would sperg about it. Just check the range in question's website ahead of time or call ahead and ask what their policy is on it.
All original and matching Type 56, with Albanian trench art.
I'm thinking of getting a metal duckbill mag for my SKS. Any suggestions?

I've literally never heard of any restrictions on bayonets at the range. As long as you're not being a retard and charging down the firing line while it's hot to bayonet your target, nobody will care.
Best folding stock for an SKS?
>>29448281
Yeah, don't. They're junk.
>>29448290
>folding stock
>SKS
Bubba pls
>>29448342
>Yeah, don't. They're junk.
Really? Even if I just use it like a fixed mag? What exactly is wrong with them?
>>29448415
They don't feed properly, ever.
Even with fitting and adjusting the feed lips, they're iffy at best.

I don't have pictures but I'm working my way through the less common variants. I already own two 1954 Tula sks's, a Yugo m59 that turned out to be the last one made in 1964 (it's the early model without the grenade cup), and tomorrow I'm getting a sino Soviet chinese. Unless I see an ultra rare variant like an East German or North Korean SKS, I think my collection will be complete.

you should have just bought a folder vz58 if you wanted sks features without the long length

Canadian?
>>29450732
definitely not, canadians can't own aks
I just ordered a J&G sales type 56, I should have it 12 days or so thanks to commiefornia. Any tips/ideas for cleaning/restoring these? I want to slightly restore the stock while still keeping the visual wear.

Let's say I am planning to purchase an SKS. What year, model and general things should I be looking for to get a good SKS for a good price?
>>29451257
Are you willing to pay 350 or 500 for an SKS. If you answered 350 first or lower than you're getting a chink. They're actually just as fine as Russians, just not as collectible in the US. If you're canadian I think sub 200 is average.

Why would a bayonet ever be a no-no at a gun range where you're shooting actual bullets?
>>29448281
I've got two USA brand 30 rd mags. Never had any feed problems with them. I dont use them anymore though, replaced by a stock 10rd box mag. SKS is not an AK.
Pic is my Norinco paratrooper, I have not shot it in a couple years. I was at the range, pulled the trigger and the rifle decided it was a great time for a 3 round burst. After lots of stares from other shooters, I immediately retired it to the rack and finished the day off with my AR. I need to send the trigger to Kivaari to get worked on.

Where did you get the stock?
>>29451324
IIRC you can still find Yugos for around the $350-$400 mark
