Gear thread? Rate my belt m8s, would like to get a pistol mag pouch and eventually replace the AR mag holders with HSGI tacos.
What's in the right max pouch? Looks like not too much room for pistol mags on there.

I have a plate carrier with 4 more mags, a camelback pouch on the back, and an IFAK on it. Goal is to have the belt set up as a complimentary but separate entity. Would like to have 4 AR mags on the belt when done

That's pretty much the ideal set up for a belt. I'd say lose the usgi style canteen for a slimmer bottle and move it up so you can stick an ifak on it rather than your carrier, and a double mag pouch with the kangaroo pistol mag pouches. Don't put four mags on a belt unless you plan on getting a padded one with suspenders, at which point you might as well just get an improved alice rig.
Canteen. Not using a molle warbelt. No pistol mags. No knife. No blowout kit. No tourniquet. Mini dump pouch that can barely hold 3 mags. Dip pouch in ammo/tool space instead of behind hips in accessory/long term space.

Carried a canteen for a long time before m8. Might move the dip pouch to behind hips, that's a good place for it. Knife isn't an issue because i have a knife in my pocket. This belt is more for going to the range and messing around than for fighting the patriarchy in WWIII, though as previously said I intend it to compliment my plate carrier in case of actual WWIII.

No there isn't. You have enough room for a TQ, but not an IFAK. Drop the bottle, move it to 2nd line or better yet 3rd with a bladder on 2nd. Move dump the center, put TQ to the right of that, and a blowout kit to the left.

There's a lot of random molle untility pouches that could work well. Just start looking around on sites like TAG and SKD if you want commercial stuff, otherwise keepshooting.com and such have a ton of random milsurp pouches. As for the bottle, just go to your local outdoors/sports store. REI, Dick's, Dunham's, etc will all have slim nalgene and stainless steel water bottles by the assload. You can have the ifak hanging vertical as well. If you want more space, US PALM makes a neat little rig that attaches to your belt without taking up any molle webbing and has a drop down panel with molle on it (ideal to get that dump pouch out of the way)

It holds its weight fine, especially considering it was $11. Definitely not the best belt by a long shot though. Leather holster is for my CZ82 since its either that or my 1911. Canteen actually isn't on my spine, and how often do you fall flat on your back for that to be a real risk?

Correct, but all your other shit will be bouncing around because you don't have a molle belt anyways. Battle rattle like a motherfucker. Run 100 yards with that belt and see how your shit spins, flops, and hurts without a proper load bearing system.

No it doesn't. That buckle will snap the first time you get snagged running. If you keep adding weight one side of the clips will come undone while running.

Everyone seems to be focusing on ditching the canteen, but if you really wanted to keep the canteen on you, what set up would you have? I'm trying to set up a- innawoods fuckin around pretending i'm fighting commines n shit- belt and I would like to keep a canteen, knife, and pistol, what else I should add and were I should put it is what id like your advice on. thanks ahead of time.

Personally I carry a 2 quart us surplus canteen on a shoulder strap
I don't really care for hip mounted canteens or camelpaks and I find it comfy to carry with a light 24 hour pack.
I don't go to clases or have a military background though, I just find it comfy for my uses which are mostly lightweighr shit when I'm going on a hike or to a crag for some rock climbing.

Alice gear is fine. I don't like using the mag pouches as mag pouches because they're a pain to get closed after you open them if you're not standing still. Then mags fall out, and that's no fun. All and all, it's still a system that works pretty damn well.
