My dad has one and it literally cannot shoot steel cased ammo. Every time he tries it fails to go into battery. This seems like a glaring flaw for a $1000 handgun

I've had my HK45 since 2012 and it eats literally everything.

Ammo I have used off the top of my head:
>Tulammo (2x500rd cases)
>Silver Bear
>Magtech
>Blazer
>Blazer Brass
>Winchester White Box
>Winchester PDX
>Speer Gold Dot
>Remington UMC/PMC
>S&B
>Fiocci
>Federal

My guess is it has too much lube. Did you wipe it down after you bought it? The krauts pack them with grease for shipping. I'm talking globs of grease in recesses of the slide and around the recoil spring.

Do you have a picture of the malfunction?

>>

>usp which is based off the mk23
USP and MK23 were developed in parallel, the USP started development earlier in the 80's, the MK23 was an enlarged and strengthened USP to meet the OHWS tender, and while the MK23 was in development the USP came out on the commercial market first in 1993 in .40 S&W and 9mm versions.

the MK23 took another year for military deliveries to start after Phase II prototyping and came out on the commercial market in 1996 - after the USP. there are only a few parts in common with the USP most are enlarged or are closer to USP prototypes than commercial USPs.

how long you had the TLR3 on there? I heard they can be quite fragile at the claw, and actually break more often than not, esp if overtightened.

Check if your TLR has a "V" in the serial, this is supposed to designate the newer fiberglass reinforced plastic used in the mold. iirc it was recent that the change occured, like 2013ish

Great pistol. Make sure you dont have the "false reset" (out of spec) trigger bar. What is the two letter datecode? The Two-tone limited models are more desirable, however, the USP40C is a great piece. Dont buy into the whole LEM trigger or Match trigger or LEM Hybrid crap. If anything, the only thing you need to do is buy a V3 detent plate and turn your safety into just a decocker. Oh, and a protip, do NOT let the slide release touch the side of the slide when you reassemble it. You will never get rid of the scratch. It almost looks as bad as the circular scratch you can make with a slide release on a 1911. Honestly, if you wanted a .40 USP, you got the best one. A fullsize USP is best suited for 45, because you only gain 1 round from a USPC in 40.
>USP45 - 12rds
>USP45C - 8rds

Pretty sure its CZ75's and whatever poorfag shit has hit the market, such as VZ2008's and SCCY and RIA 1911s, dunno what era of /k/ you are referring to
>Fuck, the FAL has its own threads. The FAL is exactly why people refer to 5.56x45 NATO Jr.
literally never heard of it being called that. Havent seen a FAiL thread in quite some time, usually just lumped into /brg/, and seeing as there are no really good manuf's for a real FAL, most tend to be doge shit.
>Battle rifle threads are basically people comparing SCARs and FALs.
Are you a time traveller? or you new here? Its always Which PTR91 should I get or what AR10 is the best.
>Basically every firearm they've made has changed the way people look at firearms.
lolwut? your 'delusional FN fanboy' is showing....
>Even guns they didn't make, like ye AR, they've got the best fucking uppers for.
delusional fanboy status: Confirmed.
The actual stripped upper is made by about 8-10 different forges, FN does not make their own. The FN15A4 is no where near being a milspec rifle, and any info they gained from the US Govt TDP (which Colt actually owns/owned) cannot be used in commercial sales. So when you say your favorite company makes the best uppers, they are actually not milspec and are on par with basically any other no-name brand AR manufacturer out there. You would literally be better off buying a PSA upper than wasting the money on a fuckhueg FN lazermarked upper.

And from what I have see, yeah, thats about average.

I did, however, see a LNIB police trade-in for $650, so you didnt do too bad. You got a new gun. Only time they have ever been cheaper was when HK was gonna go bankrupt and had $100 mail-in rebates, but most of those are BD date codes.

The false reset thing has happened on and off over the years, so make sure you check it.

Basically, make sure unloaded. shoot and hold trigger, rack slide like a bullet went off, slowly let trigger out.
There should only be one audible tactile click and you should be able to drop the hammer again.

>Do you have tiny hands?
nah, I was talkin about its length. There is not much difference in HK grip circumference between the USPC, USP and Mk23 according to their website. I tried one at the gunstore, but found it to be a bit front-heavy, which Im sure a fully loaded mag woulda evened it out, but the USP45T felt more balanced. I really want one, but that pricetag and big as a reading magazine size really just makes me think its gonna suck for anything useful. Ive heard custom kydex is really the only way to go for holster options, besides a dropleg.... Doesnt help the KAC can is almost as much as the fucking pistol itself, also.

if you have a mark 23 why not use it?

no underbarrel rail and too poor for LAM
I bought the suppressor for the MK23, but it'd be cool to have multiple guns to put it on

This is a great rail adapter

I've been looking at it for a while, but I'm waiting on that until I get good at making kydex holsters
nobody makes IWB holsters for MK23 with the rail adapter

What holster do you use for your 23? I have a Kydex that a good friend of mine made but I know it is going to be hell on the finish over a long time.

Shtf Gear from amazon
Nigga it's got the hardened hostile environments finish, it should be fine

kydex holsters aren't really that bad for the finish themselves, it's the fact that grit wears off from the kydex plus grit and dust that gets in the holster rubs against the gun. it's like the media they use to clean brass for reloading, just dirt rubbing against your sweet h&k in that tight little pussy you call a holster. make sure you rinse out your holster every now and then with warm soapy water to get all the junk out.

plus, it's a weapon, wear is a sign of use. a well worn weapon is one that's been used. a weapon that's been used is a weapon that you are good at using. It's maturity.

I have an erection.

I got a Blade-tech kydex model in 08 while deployed because the drop-leg I was issued sucked serious ass.

Not bragging but an acquaintance (Special Forces officer) told me he owned an HK, and volunteered that that he owned 36 of them. So they must be good for him to be that much in love with one mfr. OP: is your HK well broken-in? Maybe you got the rare one that's slightly out of spec. Keep shooting it w/many types of rounds. If still headaches, return it for warranty work. Good luck.
