What steel case .223 would you recommend to someone who wants to have a small backup stockpile?

Except pleb tier ammo is better than none at all. I just shot 60 rds of wolf that stayed in my range bag since '08, they all went bang. I also shot some silver bear which looked pretty bad but still shot fine.

Just make absolutely sure it lives in an ammo can in a cool dry place with a moisture absorbent packet. That ammo should be fine.

Just to let you know wolf does make brass .223 ammo, I got 1,000rds in sale about a year ago, came with (and inside) a new .50 cal ammo can, I think it was 33cpr, which is a little more than regular wolf but not much, at least at the time
Hornady Steel Match is the god tier steel ammo.

Wolf is your best choice for cheap bulk steel case. Naturally, it will rust if you keepnit wet (though I've shot tons of the stuff with surface spots of rust no problem). Just keep it in a sealed container with long term moisture absorbing packets and it'll store fine indefinitely.

You're not. When I bought my AK about 2 years ago everyone said it was pretty much the best you can get, but some people (me for instance) always seem to be in the mood to buy ammo when its sold out. I knew we went through a spell there where any site that had it sold out of it quickly
