this subject has already been discussed 400 times in the last 24 hours.
Haven't seen this yet... Neat
Would totally keep in my pocket for a backup
I'd buy it if it were an actual cellphone AND a gun.

I don't know... I get that .380 is strongly matched for short barrels, and is one of the thinnest rounds for pistols, but it is also barely thinner than common 9mm, and is awfully weak.
Maybe something else would better, like .327mag?

I mean, a rimmed cartridge would make more sense for a derringer, and you wouldn't be firing too many shots with it, so wasted propellant wouldn't be that big a deal.

The one other pressing option would be .32ACP, particularly if it was upped to three barrels. .32 could also allow it to be smaller, look even more like a cell phone.
And being even less instantly-deadly, in exchange for other advantages, would help it deal with all the flak.
If these ever really caught on, it would probably lead to a new mini-ACP cartridge, like a lengthened .25 or .32.
I can see this going very badly in court if used as a ccw

plus by having cell phone guns. Now cops have an even better excuse when they piss their pussy pants b/c they are scared to do their job and unload on some guying reaching towards his cellphone.

We should support this

They'll just use non-cell phone type things to record.
This is a weapon purpose built to defeat the metal detectors at the courthouse.
>empty your pockets into this small basket here
>cop looks at basket, sees keys, cigs, cellphone, wallet, some change.
>walk through metal detector, no problemo
>"nice weather, ain't it officer!"
>receive basket with cell phone derringer inside
>walk into court
>Mozambique drill the Judge, one in the heart, one in the brain case
What could go wrong

>implying you couldn't already do this with a belt buckle holster

You're not thinking! You need something else to store at least 4 extra bullets for this thing if you want to do any serious damage! So you'd have to hide extra bullets in a powerbank for the "cellphone" or something like that.
It's getting a ton of flak on twitter (God damn, that site is a hell-hole for a gun owner) for being really retarded.
I love the concept, but I don't find it practical.

the answer is still no, dumb as fuck
scenario A
>see shit going down
>reach for phonegun
>play with your transformer until its ready
>hope bad guy is alone
>hope bad guy didn't notice you playing with toys
>shoot at the bad guy 2 times
>hope both shot hit and incapacitate him
scenario B
>see shit going down
>draw CCW
>shoot bad guy/guys with 6 or 16 or however many rounds (revolver or glock g19 or whatever) from an actual gun designed as a gun with real gun sights on it
They're going TOO FAR!
They should have just settled on a gun that looks like a *tablet*!
That way, it could be a 4 shot derringer. Or it could even use a magazine, although a slightly smaller caliber one.
