>Candidates for CIA agent jobs in clandestine services must:

>1. Be a citizen of the United States.
>2. Be at least 18 years old.
>3. Possess a bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
>4. Have strong interpersonal skills.
>5. Have a strong interest in international affairs.

tfw lack 3,4, and 6.
I just want my life to be Call of Duty: Black Ops...

So all the skill requirements then.

You don't need to be a cod kid to admit how awesome the Blops campaign was.

Nuh-uh! That chick from Zero Dark Thirty got recruited straight from high school! It was a Hollywood movie, so it had to have been accurate.
>>
>>29436618
You fucking retard most of this bored should have over half these qualities and I just lack the bachelor's because I'm still in school.

And this isn't for the super cool spoopy SAD stuff just desk jockey shit.

My guess is they meant the internship

Even in SAD, only about 20-30% of the guys are the super HSLD oper8r types people here associate SAD with.

Anyways, if you really want to make it into le big guy agency you should try to study a language or some kind of foreign affairs major in college, get good grades, and keep up to date with current events across the globe (you'll have to read actual journals as online blogs and CNN won't cut it). When you apply they look mostly at A) Major B) GPA C) how well you do on your current events essay (they'll have you hand write an essay as part of your application) D) any applicable military experience.

I swear, they need to filter discussions on the CIA because 95% of the people who post in these threads don't have a fucking clue.

I'm no expert on the CIA, but I am a contractor who has worked federal contracts that have brought me into contact with many of the intelligence agencies operating overseas.
>>
>>29436618
>Be able to write clearly and accurately.
The fact that they have to state this
>>
You're not going to get to do any cool shit. Just mundane stuff and a metric fuckton of paperwork. It's like law enforcement except you don't have to deal with as many meth'd up hobos.

Plus you've been on here so you're on a watchlist.

two of my uncles work for the CIA, one is an agent and the other does some stuff with computers

if you are on 4chan i can guarantee you don't have the interpersonal skills for an agent position. behind the scenes non agent jobs you have a chance at though, my mega geek uncle can even get one of those jobs, though he isn't a social autist

good luck though
>>
>>29437025
adding on, both of them are very well versed in foreign affairs and don't play any meme shooting games. If you are serious about this you will need to learn about reality and get out of the game world

Question: What if you originally went to community college, got a meh GPA, then transfered to a 4 year and got your degree with a high GPA? Would they look at your CC transcripts and factor that into your GPA from the 4 year?

Elements of Style can help your writing
Watch TED speeches and maybe take a speech class to help with your briefing skills; TED talks are great in that they show you how to do a good powerpoint rather than the usual DOD garbage powerpoints

There is nobody that will train you about collection, esp HUMINT, other than the agencies themselves. If collection is what interests you, just apply because these guys are one of the few legit sources for training and they understand that

>agent stuff isn't as cool as you think.

This. 95% of it is official cover meaning you end up as a glorified security guard at some embassy hoping, praying, and waiting for something remotely interesting to walk through the door so you can type up an e-mail that probably won't be read.

All the shoot'em up , package securing, interrogation, surveillance of SOI/POI/OOI, and wetwork gets done by conteactors and Spec Ops. Wanna know what you'd be doing as the CIA guy? Showing up in a suit and sunglasses, ticking off everyone in a uniform, and making an ass of yourself, all under the guise of "National Security".

Don't be thinking you'll be leading teams into hot zones or fighting side by side with troops to fulfill your mission. MACVSOG had it's day. It's over. Nobody likes it when the spooks show up.

Ok. Before I give you advice, I need to ask you. When you say you are "unsure what to do with my life", how willing are you to change that? Are you ready to commit yourself to new challenges and take risks? What do you want to do as a person? Forget about jobs, let's talk more about what you want to do with your life as a human being. Do you want to operate? Do you want to work closely with your government and do spooky shit? What do you want to do? I don't care how ridiculous it sounds, I want to hear it.
>>
>>29450528

As some one who was interrogated by a CIA agent this is 100% true. They are some of the most gun-ho faggots out there. They see no action and just guard bullshit post and pretend to be spies. The actual spec op jobs within the CIA you don't apply to they come find you.

>>
>>29454114

It's retarded and I told the full story on /pol/

I'll share some back log information and something that happened to me yesterday.

Pretty much I was placed on a federal terrorist watch list (TSC) for attemping to visit Turkey as a young single male with weapons training and flight training. I was denied at the airport for being in the on the no fly list and did some dumb shit cuz i was scared and drove to Canada. They turned me back but not before having a word with the CIA. Biggest faggot I've ever met in my life.

Yesterday I was pulled over for speeding. Cop got my license and ran it. Still on the TSC. He called for 19 fucking cops and they detained me for an hour while they called the FBI to confirm I wasn't a terrorist.
>>
>>29454199

Pretty much he asked me some dumbass questions like "What is your favorite nasheed" and "Why are you trying to go fight for ISIS?" I Told him to suck a massive dick and I wasn't trying to fight for ISIS. He kept talking shit and making racial slurs about middle eastern people. Quoting "I hate those stupid sandniggers I fought them in AFghanistan they truly are subhumans." I'm half black btw he mocked me for that and said "You look like some kinda South Asian". That man was a dick and obviously bored out of his mind and really thought he caught a terrorist.
>>

>>
>>29454177

You seem like a promising candidate. Work on getting citizenship AND valuable work experience in your field and you'd be set. Wish you luck, man.

>>29454199

>attempting to visit Turkey as a young single male with weapons and flight training.

Well, granted, that is a bit suspicious given the current situation with Turkey and their Islamic allies.

>denied at the airport...and did some dumb shit cuz I was scared and drove to Canada.

Another huge red flag.

>Biggest faggot I've ever met in my life.
>all of this post >>29454226

Well, I'll play the devil's advocate here. Seems to me that you were (unknowingly, of course, because shit like that happens) doing the same thing a regular, uneducated terrorist would do. Fly to Turkey with weapons/flight training, drive to Canada/other country, have a bit of a sketchy background, etc.

Sounds like he wanted to piss you off to see if you could spill something he didn't know. Jihadists are notorious for being short-tempered fools who'll swear you out while giving you valuable information if you piss them off hard enough, so maybe he saw an opening.

I'm not justifying what he did. He did a sloppy job and from what you've told me, acted like an amateur about it. But then again, maybe it was an emergency and needed to get some information fast. Who knows?
>>
>>29454317

Yeah, he said that was what he was doing too and he apologized afterwards. The FBI said the same thing about what I did with the Canada shit. I was just scared as fuck they were gonna put me in prison for some shit I didn't do. Also I paid for that Turkey trip and wanted to go lol. Sorry for my shitty grammar playing Wargame
>>
>>29454332

No worries, friend. Good thing you could patch it up rather easily though. And I wouldn't worry too much over the TSC thing, it takes time to get off the list and naturally, it's mostly a precautionary thing.

>>29454294

Interpersonal is basically social dexterity. How well and how fast you can make friends out of people, how likeable you are, etc.
>>

big/important. And I'd love to participate in overthrowing socialist governments in the third world/the DPRK.

Manufacturing is picking up in my area, depending on your area there's entry-level warehouse and assembly jobs. They have pretty good benefits and run 10.50-12.50 an hour which is 2-4 bucks and hour over retail.

Then with a year or two in that you can afford night classes in a skill from a community college/technical training program. Just bite the bullet and don't spend anything you can save. Just get that GED man, you can go military > GI Bill > workforce or carve your own way but its almost impossible to find work without a GED/HS Diploma.
>>
>>29458332
Go to school, major in something STEM or political (with an international focus)

learn a language, study abroad (and not a shitty one like French or German, something useful to defense)

keep a good GPA and a clear record
>>
>>29456941

What? I don't understand.

>>29458332

Alright, you and I are on the same page. If you want to have a heavy hand in overthrowing socialist governments in the third world, you could always join the military and shoot for SOF positions, later on becoming a candidate for the CIA SAD program.

But for now, this guy >>29458689 has pretty solid advice. I suggest learning Russian or a middle eastern language. I want to add that you need to make good friends. Get experiences that you would want the CIA to know about when they interview your friends.
>>
>>29458887
Thanks.

I'd like to add that if you look at the NCS application, they seriously stress some sort of experiences abroad. They're looking for people who can adapt to living abroad, demonstrated by work, study, or other long ventures overseas. Also, the best way to truly learn a language is immersion in a culture where it's spoken.

So if it is something you really do wish to pursue, go to school and get gid.
>>
Why the fuck wold you advice to work for our government, become a teacher be useful to my country... I want to be part of something be part of this dick and fuck your mother.

its a real thing, you can become a spy for the CIA, FBI and what ever by being in the right place at the right time. historically they have been people who study other cultures but they have also been people who work at book stores that were often visited by people on interest.
