Finally filed my taxes and getting $1,800 back. What's a cool/interesting rifle in 5.56 I could get? Could I realistically get an FNC for this much or would I have to shell out more?

I wouldn't. You'll probably only see 7500 tops after taxes. Fucking feds. Sometimes you can find old Leader rifles for less than 2k. They were submitted back in the day to replace the Australians L1A1. Unfortunately lost to the AUG. Still pretty good though.

I think Zenith has two HK-93 offers on atlantic firearms in .223 - one a pistol, the other the rifle. There's not been much talk about them, but it seems like those who have them like them.
