I got me a SMLE
all numbers (that I can tell) are matching. looking into it, it's a post war Ishapore (despite the LGS saying it was a WWI model). barrel looks in decent condition, and the parts seemed to have been manufactured in 1963. No 1 Mk III in .303, waiting on a couple of boxes to come in the mail. got it for $250, how'd I do?
a few things I want to ask real quick that I couldn't find through google. first, the number 16 is painted on the stock, any significance? also, my serials are followed by an 'M' every time, I looked up serial prefixes, but found no mention of M suffixes, any ideas? pics following

The 16 on the stock is probably a 'Rack Number'; the location where a rifle is stored in a unit's vault.
As for the M, the serial number is a letter + a number, it doesn't really matter where the letter is stamped in relation to the number. Each factory stomped numbers in slightly different places. If you found no mention of suffixes on Ishapore serial numbers then consider it a prefix, as is convention.

Is the scope original Russian? If so Century may have done it back in the 1990s. They did it to Finnish m/91 and m/39s as well.

Question- I have a M39 that I had bought off of Classic, it had a BIG crack on the upper handguard so I bought a replacement one still keeping the original. I got some pine tar and even after applying it it's still a little TOO light for the rest of the stock. I got that Tom's Pine Tar Mix. Anyway to get it darker and staying original to Finn ways and looks.

gunbroker is your best bet for a lebel, berthier, or krag. None of those are easy to find any more. Krags are also expensive as balls, generally 1k+.
I wouldn't pay more than 180$ for a russian nug, or 400$ for a finn. The finn ones are decent deals right now.
The most I've ever paid for an enfield was 350$, and that was just because it was a 1907 with the mag cutoff, and I wanted one of those. That was a few years ago though.

New purchase! Sold my other Mauser to get a classic. Still new to identifying WA's on them, but they're all over the place. I imagine Zastava threw random parts together to get it working or all the parts are confusing anyway.
The WA on the bolt piece at the end ( forget the name, cocking piece) has WA221 on it. I couldn't find anything for this information wise. There's other Waffens on there but all of the codes don't match any particular factory or meaning.
