In general when they showed up they demanded I drop the weapon, I set it down and they secured it, said they needed to make sure it wasn't stolen. They asked if I knew him, wanted to press charges, was everyone OK, did I fire any shots. I didn't get taken in because of the laws here. In general was awkward after I started talking to the cops, all I had was a towel to cover my glory.

Some countries ban HPs in handguns. So yeah, not very uncommon to use FMJs.

That entirely depends on the HP in question. .223Rem FMJ tends to break up readily when it hits something solid. A lot of pistol cal HPs remain bonded and retain mass.
