Which Factory new ammo do you prefer? Why? Bad experiences with a certain ammo?

>Just bought 100 of pic related for under 28 bucks after taxes.
> Like Federal, and Remington more, but more expensive.
> Dislike Tula... No bad experience, just the name I guess. And reloads... I don't use reloads.

>>

I order whatever isn't Tula and is the cheapest on the tracker.
>>

PPU and GECO is some of the best ammo for the price. I haven't found anything cleaner and more consistent in the 20-25cpr range.
>>
>>29415846
Did you actually just stand up 100 rounds in a neat rank and file to post a picture on a chinese cartoon forum?

9mm has less recoil, more capacity, cheaper ammo. If you really want 40 cal ballistics, 9mm +p is nearly identical in performance.

They dont feel flappy to me, probably the most "shootable" for me second to a 1911 or anything SA

>>

MMMmmm, Drama!
Ok. I dont hang out in here much.
>>
>>29416146

I first started carrying 45, then 357 mag for a while, then 40, now im at 9mm. Can't imagine I'll go any smaller.

Personally, I can draw and get 3 or 4 shots on target in a few seconds with 9mm. Could I do that with larger calibers? More or less, it took a bit longer. If I can get 3 or so shots center mass that fast, 9mm is big enough.

That's just my rationale for 9mm.

I've used CCI, Federal, Wolf, CBC, Magtech, Priv Partizan, Aguila, Armscor with no issues.

Used Fiochi until it gave me a bit of a scare:
>Be going pew-pew at the range with muh AR
>pew-pew-pFSHHHHHHHHHHH
>smoke everywhere
>back the fuck up and stare at my gun like a dumbass
>smoke clears.
>no visible damage
>eject round. Still has projectile in it so no squib. Case is cracked around the primer.

aaaaaaaaand I don't think I'm buying that stuff again anytime soon.

I reload so I mostly shoot my own stuff. If not then usually just whatever is cheap with decent brass that I can reload.

For defensive ammo I use either Gold Dots or HST though.

I don't really know a lot about bullet type, really.

For plinking I just buy brassed case stuff, from reputable brands; Winchester white box, PMC, mostly because the quality is decent, with a fair price. They usually cycle fine, and you don't get ridiculously light bullet weights that can't be used as backup defensive ammo.

For good stuff, I just go with the usual shit people recommend, federal, Speer, hornady, golden sabers.

I guess if I had to pick a favorite it would be the Golden Sabers, simply on aesthetics. Plus supposedly the bullet profile is pretty close to ball and supposedly is supposed to feed across multiple platforms better. But idk

Range officer here, I've seen numerous firearms of more than reputable quality (Glock, Sig, HK .etc) fuck up from steel and especially lacquer coated ammunition.

Anything but wolf/bear/tul aluminum. the casings are garbage some have laquer that literally gunk up your action so that it wont cycle. spent $400 on 2 gunsmiths fixing my AR after shooting 100 wolf.

Other than that, the only consideration is inconsistent ammo leads to a little bit of inaccuracy, IE the tulAmmo maxxx. some rounds were hot, some felt like they barely pushed them out the barrel.
>>
>>29421181
Not lore to me.

seriously messed up my AR after it's first 100 rounds with lacquer wolf ammo. the bullets, even brass would get stuck in the barrel. the ejector would rip off the rim and i'd be SOL. do what you want, but i'm never using that again. saving 2c a round cost me $400

>>
>>29421360
bushmaster, 10 years ago when they were still on top.

and like i said, went through a quick three mags, and heated the barrel. the lacquer would melt off the round when it was in the chamber, and leave a film. the next round goes in too tight, the ejector can't pull it out, so you tear off the base of the casing. rinse/repeat you can't fire more than a couple rounds without the film adhearing to the next one you leave in the chamber.
>>
>>29421391
Of all the things that never happened.

Look Elmer, your shrubmaster had a generous chamber and was over gassed. Don't blame the ammo.

Is there like a big difference in 22? Is there some I should stay away from?
>>
>>29421686
He probably thinks commie snow magic makes the AK run molten laquer steel case just fine. Same magic that lets it shoot our militaries ammo and never jam.

He's obviously a fudd-tard who cares?
>>
>>29421391
This is actually because the steel rounds dont expand as much as the brass does when shot. So gas gets shot back between the gap and the chamber causing a larger build up in it because the chamber was designed for brass expanding, not for steel staying the same size. It gets worse when you shoot steel then brass, since the steel will cause build up then when you shoot brass, the brass expands into the build up and causes it to get stuck around it.

The polymerization process they put on barnaul/tula steel rounds gets the steel much hotter than the round ever will when fired. It's not melting.

This is why combloc weapons dont have this problem because their chambers were designed for steel rounds not expanding as much.
>>
>>29421695
when a gun buying panic happens, .22LR is the first to go. You can't find it anywhere.

Because of this, shitlords from /k/ buy tens of thousands of rounds of the stuff in (somewhat justified) paranoia.

>Is there like a big difference in 22? Is there some I should stay away from?

Not really. It's rimfire, you'll have failures with every brand. If you are planning on stocking up, just stick with a major brand, and make sure it isn't subsonic (unless you want that).
>>
>>29422207
