You ever hear of Rand Paul? His dad literally named him the second syllable of his favorite rifle, the rifle he used in the service.
>>29406898
Goo-round.
>>29406898
A gerund (gare-und) is a noun turned into a verb by adding -ing (ie, "Google" into "googling.") The battle rifle is "guh-rand"

the U. S. rifle, caliber .30, M1 was never officially named after its designer.
John Garand pronounced his last name to rhyme with "errand," but the most common nickname for the rifle from its inception to the present has always been the ga-RAND pronunciation

Bullshit
Rhymes with "errand". That's how he pronounced his name, that's how he intended the rifle's name to be pronounced.

>intended
But that's not what actually happened, which is why you used the word "intended".
Guh
Rand
>>29407234
Yeah but shouldn't we call it as the guy intended? He did design it after all.
>>29406898

It's the peak of otaku masturbation to make a show about guns that none of the animators, writers, or directors have ever actually fired.
I can sympathize with Miyazaki because it's disgusting how repressed Japan is for a show like that to ever be aired.

It's okay. From what I've lurked, there are plans to make a /k/omic and do it even better.
But then again, there were also plans to start a PMC, plans to dig underground ranges, and more recently, plans to set up anti-poaching squadrons in Africa.
Hopefully this one gains traction since no one has to actually leave their bunker for this.

the 1903a3 was used from world war one all the way to korean war (forgoten war some say). the m1 grand was used for ww2 mostly. we should have stuck with the 1903a3 all the way through vietnam at least. it was much more reliable less likely to explode. i always had distrust gfor the m1. it have inhertently weak action and chamber and wrong ammo can be disastrous.

However Mr. Garand pronounced his name, it isn't that hard.
