So I ended up working security at a party in a sketchy neighborhood and there was a shootout from a fight that started inside and my bersa .380 ended up jamming on me(it's been doing this a bit at the range as well) but luckily the other guard had a glock 19 on him. It was cleaned not too long before that night too so it wasn't cause it needed cleaning. My question is: what gun should I replace it with that is concealed carry?
>>
>>29401853

A. Fucking. REVOLVER.
>>
>>29401853
If you like glocks, a glock 43 will do just fine if you want a small frame. You can also conceal a glock 19 if your build suits it.
>>
Alright I'm not normally like this but your CC piece should be 100% reliable no questions asked. A cz, glock, or sig are all great choices. For your situation I'd go with a cz p-07, they're easy to conceal, shoot great, not pricy and 100% reliable. If you have a gun that messes up 10% at the range, don't carry it, don't bargain your life on that 90%

>So I ended up working security at a party in a sketchy neighborhood

How about stop fucking doing this before you get killed?
>>
>>29401906
And the CZ shill finds his prey
>>
>>29401853
You got in a shootout and survived even though your gun jammed? Green text that shit familia.
>>
>>29401919
>be me
>hired as security for a warehouse party
>sketchy ass spic neighborhood
>party goes on ok up till around 2 am
>hear gunshot from the inside
>everyone running out and trying my best to control the situation
>firefight starts on the outside
>all the party goers are all trapped outside now because of the hail of bullets
>bullets start coming my way so I grab bersa and try firing
>jammed
>ohshit.jpg
>try clearing it but other guard just tells me to bring everyone outside in while he gives cover
>cops show up and start firing themselves
>by the end of it cops, firefighters, and paramedics arrive.
>>
So any other recommendations?
>>
>>29401918
He mentions other guns besides a cz and yet hes a shill.
>>
>>29402126
Do you prefer OC or CC
>>
>>29401853
Makarov, man. It's even got more oomph than a .380.
>>
>>29402043

I've never had a gun jam in an emergency, but I have terrible dreams about it. What did it feel like?
>>
>>29402043

Either you are a complete dumbass, or that's a load of shit.

>>29401853

I do keep hearing of Bersas not comparing to Maks (which they are seen as an alternative to) in reliability.

>>29402043
Not even Gecko45 tier......
>>
If its a bad area I'd be carrying a full-size gun OWB and a spare mag. Maybe even an extendo. G17, M9, or an M&P works. If you want to conceal carry an M&P shield or G43 works well. But you'll sacrifice capacity. If you work for a firm get an idea of the guns the other guys carry so you'll be able to share mags.
>>
>>29402169
Put my vote for "load of shit." "Armed security" and carrying a Bersa? No, son, if you were "armed security," your company wouldn't let you carry something like that.

I say carry two, one for how you normally carry(IWB,OWB,Shoulder holster? Maybe three for SH, a full size at that) and other for ankle carry, say a small .380 or snub nose revolver( S&W snubnose, model 36,38,49, snub model 10, snub 19/66, snub 686) or a Ruger SP 101 in 2.5 or 3 inch, they also make a 3 inch GP 100, or a LCR, but it's polymer and harder too shoot I heard. Or heard good enough things about Charter arms, make snubby .38's and a 3 inch .44 special.

After that go with a Glock(don't own one but seems pretty practical for the job) or the CZ compact, CZ sp, CZ p-07 or a beretta, maybe a bit smaller one in .380, you can get a sexy as hell 70s for around 300-400 off gunbroker. Maybe one of those old S&W automatics like a 569 or something. Or since you had a shitty bersa try a real PPKs or a Astra constable. Or you can go full operator and get either a Sig or HK.

>TLDR compact or normal pistol for how you carry now or switch carry style. Ankle revolver. I would say get a snubby SP 101 or 686 or 19/66(66 is stainless) all those are .357 and can easily use .38 hollow points +P.

>>29402252
I'm willing to go above

So, no security license, acting as security, and shooting in and among cops? Even bigger bullshit.

Honestly OP you won't go wrong with any popular polymer frame. But I would go with a g26 or 19 so you and your buddy can exchange mags on the fly.
But if you don't, Sig P320's may be more reliable
than Glocks for the same price and have a bigger flushed magazine capacity, and they're completely modular with each other models
>see pic related
>subcompact frame with a full size slide

>>29402293
believe me or not. If you couldn't tell from how I started this thread I wasn't here to tell stories. It seems I really only started getting tips when I actually told the story though so at least that's something.
>>
>>29402336
whoops that's a p250.
But the P320 is an updated and improved version of the p250
>>

it looks like glock might be the most likely turn for me

bersa thunder is a blowback action (fixed barrel, only slide moves).

As such, if you limp wrist it, it wont cycle properly.

Stop being a pussy and hold your gun firmly.

Everytime my wife used to use it, it would jam. Until I showed her how to properly hold it while firing.

I am the Sergeant of a three-man Rapid Tactical Force at one of America’s largest indoor retail shopping areas. Although there are typically between fifteen and twenty normal security officers working the beat there, we decided a while ago that it would be best to have a specilized force for violent individuals. We use modified electric vehicles and can be anywhere on a given floor within eight and a half minutes.Naturally, the regular security people are unarmed. We “RTFers”, by arrangement with the local police, carry high-strength OC spray and batons. If we have a full tactical alert and permission from the local LEOs we also have a Mossberg 500 with less-lethal rounds and two K-frame Smith .38s loaded with 158gr. LRN.Basically, the situation is that we get the call, we lock up the situation, put everything five by five, and cordon the area until the local authorities arrive. We’re cops, we just don’t get the glory. [Somehow, I imagine the real police wouldn’t agree”]I am not permitted to carry Glocks on duty; however, when my wife picks me up from work I strap on the “Deadly Duo” of a 27 and 23, each with Bar-Sto .357 bbl.

>>
>>29403984
If you want to laugh at somebody, try laughing at the sheep out there who go to the mall unarmed trusting in me to stand guiard over their lives like a God.
>>
>>29403485
How do you limp wrist while shooting for your life?

My targets show signs of a death grip, when I double as fast as I can.

Also, I put 3000 rounds through a bersa.

Not one problem ever.

Unless you count riding the slide stop, or forgetting to take off the safety.

I'm calling bullshit on my bersa jammed.

You spouting bullshit or do you have actual experience with Bersas?

>>29406646

Nothing. Bersas are solid handguns. It seems like some people on /k/ think it's a shit-tier manufacturer cause of some lemon batches. Other people on /k/ swear by them as being reliable shooters.

I will admit I did have a lemon Bersa Thunder 9 Pro the guide rod and spring broke after 400 rounds of WWB 115gr during a range trip and I could not for the life of me get the slide open. I called Bersas customer service told them about what had happened to my pistol and they paid for the shipping to one of their repair centers. They replaced the whole slide assembly, I do not know how they managed to separate the slide from the frame without destroying the frame cause that thing was fucked must have used Voodoo Brazilian witchcraft. Since then it's had about 1.5k-ish rounds through it without any failures that wasn't due to shitty ammo (Brown Bear).

I now own a Thunder 40 Pro, Thunder .45 UC Pro, and Thunder .380 which have all worked flawlessly with over 1k rounds through each of them.

Inb4 Bersa shill or poorfag.
>>

I used to carry a Bersa as a pizza guy, and thank God I never needed it, it was pretty jam-tastic.

>>
>>29401915
This right here.
If it's in a shitty neighborhood, shitty people will come. Shitty people tend to hate badges, and will definitely not respect/listen to you. You're more likely to get shot for trying to throw somebody out, or for finding something when you search them on the way in. (You did at least search them right?)
>>
>>29401915
No shit.
I used to be a bouncer and I quit after eventually realizing how insane it was to take on that kind of liability. Forget getting killed, try on a few personal injury lawsuits.

They would have to pay me a real fucking fortune to deal with that shit.
>>
>>29402424

>>
>>29403960

That is some fucking nostalgia right there.

>>
My Bersa 40 mini is alright, except:
>cracked frame
>won't cycle steel cased
>kicks like a mule

It looks cool, takes down easy and is completely ambidextrous, though.
