It's a Winchester 1894 with an 1898 serial number.
My dad inherited it from an uncle before I was born. Gave it to me when I was 23. I don't think he every shot it, and I'm definitely the first person to have detail-stripped it in decades.
Fucker's the heaviest gun I own, still super accurate too. Has 8 tally marks on the foregrip too, though I have no idea what they signify.

The only gun I want to mention is my 88 year old mosin. The gun works fine. I bought it as my first gun but I fucking hate it. The only reason I still have it is it's as old as my Great grandmother. The gun is still here even though she's not anymore. I remember showing it to her and telling her "It's Russian, just like your dad!" ( She was the daughter of a Russian father and a Lithuanian mother. So she spoke 3 languages growing up.)
Anyway she nicknamed it. She said it fits the gun nicely, but ever since she pasted away I can't bring myself to sell it. Mosins are awful guns but I can't help but feel close to her when I play with it.

First you've got overlapping letters that make the same noise, then you've got ones that overlap that don't then you've got to figure out a way to remember the sounds of the ones that look like absolutely nothing you know of, and then writing and speaking are different, and fuck its hard.
