they are dinged up with some carry/holster wear. i got one with a cracked left grip panel. otherwise they're in good condition for an 80's era beretta. i like the shiny black finish. better than the matte bruniton.
also because someone asked in a different thread, yes the barrels are chrome lined.

They're not bad for range toys. Budget $360 for the gun, FFL transfer and a few S mags or FS mags to modify. They'll shoot like a 92FS- heavy and accurate enough to be like shooting a laser pistol- for $100 less.
Personally, I buy my handguns new as possible, but if it's just punching holes in paper a heel mag release may be nbd

You want to buy a frame and then carry over the used slide and barrel (which won't even fit a non-92S), and are the two parts most likely to break/get worn out? So your total cost is going to be ~$800 ($300 for this old surplus and $300 for a new frame)? Why not just spend $500-600 on a new 92FS?

Get magazines made for a Beretta 92/96 from Midway, (stock # 623490). They have the proper lower cut for the heel mag release. You could buy surplus M9 mags and cut them with a Dremel, but these magazines work fine.
