Use your handgun as a means to get to your rifle. More rounds, more secure handling, more intimidating... There's a reason why SWAT and military use it to clear buildings.

The rounds do tumble on impact, so theyre probably less likely to penetrate than say a 9mm. They're travelling at such a high speed that they fragment when hitting solid objects, and destroy flesh like no ones business

IF you can find a decent bullpup fora decent price that would probably be the better option. 16in barrel bullpups are tiny, so you'll get better ballistics, in a smaller package likely with less muzzle blast as well. (although firing a rifle in doors doesnt sound fun no matter how long it is

Dyer is great because half of the town is cigarette stores and gas stations for the Illinois people to come over and buy from due to the lower taxes, then the other half is liquor stores for the Indiana people to buy booze from on Sundays. Everything tumbles on impact. It's a question of how much it takes to do that. My 9mm loads are 115gn my 556 is 62gn that is half. Granted going four times as fast or more.
